it’s an embarrassment of riches at UFC 300 so let us now move along to another title fight on this absolutely loaded Play Bill BMF belt on the line Justin gatei looking to defend against Max Holloway so gai’s last fight of course for the BMF title UFC 291 he defeated Dustin porier via second round head kick Gate’s won three of his last four and the only loss in that span coming to Charles Olivera in a fight for the Undisputed title so it’s gatei it’s Holloway under the lights for the BMF belt here on Saturday night Shale and uh hard to argue with this fight certainly another fight that could have headlined UFC 300 high stakes if not Undisputed Stakes here Saturday night hey I love the mere fact of the title I like these kinds of belts I like the super fight way back in the day what I’m talking about is we’re going to have an lineage for the first time ever I love the idea that we’re defending which might get pulled down to 45 might stay up here at 55 Justin gaii I used to think was a little bit slow I just thought that because he was so strong speed’s really hard to see but he’s so strong he’s so powerful he’s methodical he’s plotting around that I saw fight Michael Chandler who very fast I go oh my God and Gage’s beating him to the punch I start I start trying to ask myself where is Max going to be able to beat him Max is longer Max is great cardio is it better than gaies and does that length outweigh the power I got to tell you and I know you’re going to ask me for a prediction about 10 minutes at this point I don’t know yeah I don’t know either chill and and I like this new Justin gate that we’ve seen as of late I think at the beginning of his UFC career he just wanted to entertain he wanted big paychecks he wanted bonuses and he wanted people to go crazy now this new Justin gate you this chasing a title that’s that’s going in in there fighting guys like ho ala and and just trying to get a win so he can move forward to a title fight that’s a really really dangerous Justin G you slow him down just a little bit I think it makes him better he has been able to maintain though cha some of that entertainment right he feels like he is the best fighter at causing damage in the UFC but what he was able to do in 2023 right Rafael FIV a guy off avoided at 155 pounds and then the Highlight against Dustin porier I actually think he’s getting better despite the fact that he has said he’s only got a few fights left he’s learning how to win a match he’s learning how to manage a match he’s learning that a 109 must system if you’re not going to get all the way to 108 you don’t have to exert more than you got to exert you know Mike Tyson was very famous for saying if you ever look for a finish you’re not going to win a decision and I just feel uh Justin gatei if I was to go to poier part one or even the battle he had uh for most dangerous with Eddie Alvarez he did wear down just a little bit because he threw too much at the wall early he’s now not doing that he’s extending things I would love to hear from these guys I’ve listened to the press conference and Max said why he’s gonna beat Justin and Justin said he was gonna beat Max I wish somebody would have asked him what are you worried about with your opponent where does your opponent had the edge because they both know and I’m curious because it’s very hard to see I gotta say I’ve never seen gatei so focused he’s a jovial guy likes to kid a lot haven’t seen a lot of that side of Justin gatei this week for whatever that is worth [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
