Main Event how does it feel is anything
different this fight week

I feel great thank you uh I’m happy to
be here I I don’t pay too much attention
to it it’s uh and maybe some other
people think about it too much uh if
you’re fighting before earlier or later
but to me it doesn’t matter the most
important is to get there
you know he mentions fighting earlier or
later it’s a morning card so is that
gonna affect anything do you
um I mean you still can sleep in I guess
since you’re the last fight but are you
excited to be able to go out and have a
day after it is
I don’t usually make plans before the
fight that’s not something I like to do
I’d like to go out there fight see how
the fight goes and afterwards I decide
what I want to do but I don’t like to
predict and then try and plan something
ahead of time
and this is your third fight this year
is that a good amount do you want to
continue to fight three times a year or
would you like to have a little bit more

I think it depends on just your personal
State you know if there’s no injuries or
anything like that then and I could
fight and uh I feel good now and I think
you know I feel I feel comfortable with
this amount of fights
and you have a potential fibrone fight
in front of you how different was your
camp this time around preparing for that
um
I didn’t concentrate my attention on the
fact that it’s five rounds as opposed to
less uh I do what my my trainers tell me
to do my coaches tell me to do so they
tell me what to do I follow their game
plan and that’s it I don’t concentrate
on how long the fight’s gonna be
what did you think when you got the name
Derek Lewis was that somebody that you
had on your radar someone you wanted to
fight or what were the first thoughts

it doesn’t matter for me who to fight
Derek is a is a very good fighter he’s
fought for the belt a few times already
he’s a strong guy and I prepared for
that and it doesn’t matter for me who
I’m gonna fight it’s just that you know
now it’s Derek Lewis and that’s who I’m
gonna fight
what sort of fight are you expecting
from him
is this
I’m expecting a victory for myself uh
that’s what I trained for that’s what I
worked for that’s why I’m here and the
rest doesn’t matter
in this week we lost a legend in Rumble
I’m curious if you had any interactions
with him or if he had any inspiration
for your career if you have any words

huge loss for the entire community and
as we say may he rest in peace this was
God’s will we all have a certain amount
of time that God has allowed us on this
Earth and so that was his path and he he
walked to his path so of course it’s

concentrate my attention on that it
really does not matter to me

and it’s just another opponent in front
of you but this like you said this is
the guy that’s fought for the belt is
this the kind of fight that you were
hoping to see because you actually now
get to match yourself up with somebody
that did fight for the top of the belt
for the for the division the
scholarships

matter who stands in front of me the
time will show what’s gonna happen uh I
do whatever I can to get to the victory
that’s why I’m here I’m here to get the
victory I’m here to train for the
Victory and what name is in front of me
or what how loud that name is is not

and right now in the USC rankings
Derek’s seven year number 12 with the
victory one could easily say that you
should be in the top 10 after this but
with a definitive nice finish of Derek
Lewis do you think that’s it could be
enough to propel you into the top five
these chefs do not stay on City Moy uh
yes uh

yeah I don’t I don’t do the rankings I
mean whatever happens in the rankings is
what happens but uh obviously that’s our
goal is to climb up and to be a
contender that’s what’s important my
dream is to be a champion it’s my goal
to be a champion that’s what we train
for and uh you know the idea is that I’m
gonna do whatever it takes to climb up
these ranks and become a champ and both
of you last thing for me both of you
have lots of power is it too simple to
say that whoever lands first is more
than likely to win this bout or is it or
do you have to prepare and stay and
prepare that the fight could go the
distance

I didn’t think it’s the you know the
first shot that lands the first shot
that’s gonna win the person’s gonna fall
down and that’s gonna be the Victor I
think that we’ve been trained our entire
life we’ve we’ve done this for our
entire life and we’ve been hit so much
our entire life so we’re pretty durable
so uh you know I I’m prepared for all
different things and you know I don’t
think that the first shot that Lance is
gonna decide to fight
