Middleweight Sean Strickland sat down with UFC’s Brendan Fitzgerald ahead of his main event matchup on Saturday at UFC …

I’m here with Sean Strickland the one and only the one and only man what’s up man hey I’ve done a lot of interviews but uh I’m not nervous but I gotta tell you I don’t know where this one’s going I feel like you have been louder in the last couple of years you know what it is man like always like my career everyone’s like chocolate don’t talk to you she won’t sign then they probably point it up you know if it wasn’t you she I’d probably be cooking meth in a trailer in prison so but now since I have like a decent name in the sport I could say whatever I want is great it’s great how would you describe your upper I mean I will say that it was a little bit more extreme to me you’ve got the alcoholic father it was very difficult for me to fit into social settings as you can tell thank God for me that’s why I love it in May it’s like there was no other outlet for me besides of me I remember you telling me at one point or saying something where MMA worked for you because it’s the only sport you didn’t get kicked out of it my first day of training I spent like 14 15. I mean I was like young I was born with Bros and I was like man like I’m happy I know what this feels like and it was such a weird feeling to me because like I’ve never felt that before you know I may even thinking about it makes me emotional to me it was never like fighting like I didn’t want to fight someone I didn’t want to go say hey tough guy let’s fight it was like no there’s something inside me that is craving to hurt somebody badly Sean Strickland what did you think it was going to be like to be a pro fighter I didn’t think about I never thought I’d be in the UFC the stock is like to hit people but it wasn’t like the goal no it was more just like it just made me happy like it’s fun it’s exciting but it’s stressful you know like it matters you know I’m at the top of my sport fighting Savages when you join the UFC I will say that was a big thing join the U of G like you know watching this as a kid life accomplishment and then you realize that now I jumped out of my pond out in the ocean sharks but yeah I know I mean it was like biggest life accomplishment for me so your first your run in the UFC early on how would you describe what it was like for you to fight in the show I was nervous I hated it like I dreaded it I loved mma’s gave me opportunities I would never have but that being said this is the roughest line of work any man can do you can’t be in or out you have to give your life to fight you can’t be like you know what I’m gonna go pursue this and do that no you have to give your entire life in the sport I made it to a degree yeah but there’s still that pressure if I lose my flight half my check’s gone what do you think in the future as a 31 how many fights you think you have left it’s almost like a little far off until the money stops I’m in it I’m dying here if I can another one is Strickland goes down Sean Strickland well I think it was very interesting a little bit more time I got you man [Applause]
