that one how good would it feel to get it I felt great uh yeah that I’ve been working for that for a while is right um and we got it in the first round I think you landed an elbow she was coming in it seemed to bust her nose completely I think from that point on did you know I’ve got this girl on the right the ropes here and I can get it I knew it from the second I stepped in that cage that I had it in the second round she seemed to get you back but did we get any damage or was it just a bit of blood uh I actually don’t know um this has been seeming to bleed like in the last two fights so I think I I had it busted a while ago um and I think it’s just starting to really have some problems but she did hit me there she got me with a good jab and uh opened it up what would you like to do next where do you think this win Pursuit and what are you aiming for um I’ve been saying it time and time again you know whether uh Alexa wins against Valentina or not I do want that rematch um so we’ll see you know that would be ideal but um we’ll see I’m gonna go back and talk to Hunter Mick and uh the team and figure it out would that be one where if let’s say she loses the Valentine you’d still fight for the rematch get the win then that propels you into that title fight right yes thanks very much may you see how important was it to just go out and dominate the way that you did especially coming out of the Andrea Lee fight I know you felt like you won the fight other people kind of doubted it a little bit but to go out there and just have the performance like that and erase all doubt what did that mean to you uh it means everything every time I step out on the cage I’m going out for a finish and I mean the competition is getting tougher but at the same time you know I really needed to step it up and and just get into that zone um again you know and just put myself in that position where I’m like you know what there’s no way out of this except for me finishing this girl one of the things you said in the the post fight interview was that you opened up the eyes of the division you sent a message to everybody what are they what do you feel like the top five are thinking about you right now are they like oh I have to start worrying about her start thinking about her watching tape like because she’s coming I mean they should be but at the same time you know for me it’s it’s where I said at that is I think that with my last few performances people probably are like oh well she’s gonna go to a decision she’s you know backing down but I’m not backing down and I’m coming to finish these girls again you got blood all over poor Daniel Cormier a couple of what’s pretty cool about it but what do you want to say to him do you want to apologize to Daniel for that no congratulations would you say this is your best career performance I mean that’s what I’ve been hearing but um probably I haven’t watched it back yet obviously but um I’m trying to chase the next best thing so I hope that it was probably the best one that I’ve had so far and and I hope that the next one’s even better yeah and I see you very like calm very stoic in a way like not you know going crazy I mean it was a huge win right and is there is there is that on purpose you’re trying to stay kind of leveled or uh yes or no I guess it was just something I I expected this like I literally expected to go out there do what I needed to do and walk out and just be like you know what another day and like going on into the Octagon so um as excited and happy as I am it’s like I’m not surprised I planned this and I worked really hard for this yeah and you’ve always been talked about as so young a prospect right the future but is that now the present do you feel like you’re a title Contender here I keep saying this every time everyone’s like when’s the future going to turn into the present the past and it’s like for me it was it has a little bit more meaning for that meaning to me than that um it’s it’s literally just like a reminder of me to always continue to think about the future think about you know the next opportunity think about the next fight think about the next um bit of evolution that I can have so to me that name has a lot different meaning um but yeah I mean it kind of is the future and it kind of is the present yeah firefight winning streak uh an incredible finish of Everyman that he was before this winning streak started you had some setbacks and you’ve probably heard of the critics right say oh the future of this that you know she maybe wasn’t who we thought she was looking back at that sort of period of your career um what would you say to to the haters now or the people that doubted you they can hate or they can love me I don’t really care as long as they pay attention and what do you think makes sense for you next is it just waiting the result to see what happens between Valentina and Alexa in September buddy but that’s I mean that’s what I wanted was Alexa in a rematch who do you think takes the belt uh between them two awesome I mean we incredible fighter Valentino was a dominant Champion for so long for a reason so it’s an honestly it’s something where like it’s hard to give a prediction because anything can happen thank you and congratulations thank you [Music] so please [Applause] congratulations on a fantastic performance a 50-42 card I think there’s been three of those in UFC history you must be very proud of how you perform this evening yeah I feel really proud about myself yeah it was a fantastic night I think I feel really thankful with God to give me all these moments in my life so I I feel really thankful for me I think one of the most outstanding bits of your performance was your defensive striking ability and your ability to roll with punches and stuff you know is that something you’ve been working on specifically for Emmett or is that just something that you’ll add to your skill set and you’re continuing to grow so that’s something that I’m always using in my style but of course it was something that we were planning for Josh too because because he was like we all were knowing that he would come with his old hands so that’s one of the best ways to skip that punch but the guy was really tough I was really surprised so surprised about his toughness I I was supposed to knock him out in the first or second round but the guy was really tough well I mean I think you know by the time he got to the fifth round everyone could see this guy was probably just going to go all day long until the fight ended you know he was so so tough and you hit him with some massive shots those periods of the fight where you had him rocks he was on the ground were you just frustrated or just surprised that you couldn’t finish him I was surprised I I never was in inside the fight frustrated I was like surprised because he was really really tough anyone I don’t know when I catch him with some of some of that punches they really give up but the guy really showed that he has like a tough Soul you know his eye looked like it was very very closed I mean your jab was landing and it would you know really affect him are you surprised in the foreground I was thinking that the referee were stopping the fight because of his of his eyes it was like disgusting to see that were you surprised he came out for the fifth round a little bit a little bit I was that’s that was what us uh I were telling you I I was thinking that they would they were the stopping the fight because of his eye obviously the question is now going to what’s next for you I think you know Alex and Yaya have to fight in july but featherweight needs contenders and I think you’ve proven yourself tonight as a title challenger but of course he might be busy he might get the Islam rematch in October we don’t know if he gets past year here and everything would you be willing to fight Max Holloway he’s the only other guy that you could potentially fight right now or would you rather wait for a title shot busy no busy I don’t know if he’s busy I’m the next guy in the line I can wait one of the best skills I have is the patience if they offer me to fight with Max Holloway in Spain let’s do it if not um I’m gonna wait for my for my title shot that’s all last one for me Alex okanowski is obviously considered one of the best in the world and he’s beaten all the featherweights that have been put in front of him what do you do differently that means Alex will lose his fight to you I show it tonight that no one can match my level of skill Inside the Cage I I think everyone is agree with me I I know that I can finish anyone in this division so just was tough tonight but I beat him pretty pretty easy and it didn’t it don’t going to be like different with Alex you know the wrestle is going to be the same I’m going to knock him out in the first round second round if not I’m gonna dominate him for five rounds no problem congratulations on a fantastic performance thank you in English how important is it for you because you mentioned it bringing an event to Spain what would it mean to you to bring the first UFC event to Spain and be able to headline it so one of the dreams I ever had it was to become a UFC world champion and to bring the UFC to Spain so it’s going to be something huge for me to Make My Dreams reality because that’s one of the dreams I I had and I have what did you learn about yourself fighting Josh Hemet um first time you get somebody in the top five I know you you have a lot of self belief but you were in there did you pick up anything what was the experience like fighting with what many consider the top level of uh the UFC featherweight division something I learned about myself it’s that I’m unbreakable you know there is nothing in this life that can break my mentality um if Josh is tough I’m confident everyone in this division so this is what I learned from tonight yeah I asked you at the media day if you were going to be present on July 8th in Vegas for that fight that’s still the plan of course I will be there watching my next press if you could send a message to whoever leaves as champion from that night what would you say to them that his War gonna end soon and mine’s gonna start thank you and congrats on the win um [Music] foreign foreign foreign back here you guys are both looking dapper this is not to like obviously stir the pot but this is a fun brotherly question you’re both in great positions to get title shots who’s gonna be the first to win a UFC title you or marab and I I don’t know I I wish him all the way he’s my brother you know it’s like everything gonna happen to him I I will be like very happy from the bottom of my heart and I wish him for me it’s like I didn’t complete with anyone with anyone just complete with myself so if he has to be the first one I will be really proud about him and I love him so much and I want to say him thank you from here to to come and to support me in in my fight he’s he’s the man I love him love you my brother I’m proud of you brother and you will be Champions I may fight title I’m not sure but I’m very confident of you brother you can you’re gonna fight title and you’re gonna win so many times many times you want I spying with this guy he dropped me three times and now I’m I have the same confidence about about him that he he will be UFC world champion whenever he wants I didn’t have any doubt about that I spar with him and I know that he’s the guy
