Kevin Holland joins the Noche UFC Preview Show ahead of his co-main event fight vs. Jack Della Maddalena. #NocheUFC #UFC …

always entertaining when you fight you’re a guy that says look I want to just get rich or die trying what is it about the fight with Jack Della madalena that makes you think you can get rich with that pickup picking up that winning check uh I like the way he strikes I mean everybody knows me I love a good striking match so uh overall it could be another Wonder Boy night but uh maybe with a few twists and turns here and there you know Kevin I’ve watched your Evolution since you’ve been coming up man and I gotta say I’m proud of you thank you and I see now that you got your own place you got shook With You full time what does that mean you to have your own places to be doing things on your own now uh it’s pretty cool to have my own place you know uh it’s very private very closed off so it’s not a lot of people allowed to come in and out so we don’t have to worry about no outside eyes and uh I truly trust my coaches that are there so it works out smooth and the teammates that I do have there they’re always there to push everybody has the same goal in mind get better little percent every day everybody wants to make the money so we’re all with the same same agreement I like it you seem to get really excited about some of the most dangerous guys in the world like if you like the Stephen Wonderboy fight you like the way the Jack strikes what what is it that that excites you so much about a guy like Jack because it’s going to be a tough fight right like those are really hard guys to fight when you’re long and range you guys want to get on the inside yeah on paper it should be you know a tough fight but uh you know it’s like I feel like I was having a I feel like I was having a good time over there with uh Wonder Boy until I broke my hand uh I feel like the same thing with Jack I understand and how to strike I understand how to cut a tree down a lot better when I got all my tools but if I don’t have all my tools cutting that tree down does become a little bit harder but somehow some way we find a wheel we get it done and uh even if I was to lose a tool this time I picked up a lot more tools in the off time so I figure I’d be okay the tougher the opponent the more I train so that’s good for me well the thing is you’re on a two win streak and the last time out you submitted our co-worker Michael kiessa here um is there anything that you can take away from this momentum I know in the past you’ve had things go the other way right where you had a couple that didn’t go your way so does it do anything to your mentality to be on a winning streak you know what you lost me when you said your co-worker and then you said momentum I thought you said taking his spot so yeah and uh if it means beating the commentator you get to be a commentator then I appreciate my new job thank you very much well listen I’m chilling because I’m saying like I can’t hear you taking my job now to chill out but um so you’ve been watching film recently I don’t that’s the rumors that you’ve been watching film recently yeah what did you learn turn from the Randy Brown fight similar because there’s going to be similar height with you yeah I mean similar height but I think that me and a height but we fight completely different you know uh Brandy Brown skates around a little bit more than I do his footwork’s a little bit uh a little different than mine the steps are different so on and so forth and Randy Brown to be honest with you he’s more of a pretty Striker and I don’t tend to go out there and always strike is pretty sometimes I’m nitty-gritty and I just get the job done uh everybody in the division has good boxing and there’s several different styles of boxing uh so you know watching the Randy Brown fight and watching him I see the ways that he was letting him inside not using all of his tools the right way and I I hope that I can do a better job of using my tools at all times and if not I got a pretty tough chin I’ll be right what was the mental switch that you made in your last two fights because I think the biggest difference for me when I’m watching all your film you’re fighting tooth and nail for every single individual position where other times you were because your Jiu Jitsu was so dangerous and so good ah whatever is a takedown I’ll figure it out down here but especially the kyosa fight yeah you fought tooth and nail to not give him what he wanted and I think that that was kind of the beginning of the end what what would you have to make that switch like how do you have to do that uh well like he said you know back to Dean I got my own spot now so uh whether I want to be or not I am the leader there uh whether there’s a lot of people there just a few people there I am the leader there and I embrace that role so being the leader is no longer saying that your wrestling is the start of my Jujitsu being the leader means I can dictate and I can determine where the fight goes at all times so I mean I just gotta get better everywhere we hired a full-time wrestling coach so shout out to Sans I’m able to work on it at all times so ultimately overall I just feel uh more complete as a fighter and just trying to continue to grow and once again having your own spot means you’re the boss and in order to be the boss you got to act like the boss so when we’re in there I gotta act like the boss from start to finish whether it’s 25 15 minutes or a two minute fight I gotta do my job right well you’re you’re stopping fighters in the Octagon you’re stopping crime outside of the auction you know I don’t know if this guy looks familiar to RJ we want to take a look at some footage of when you were on the uh the official weigh-in show now you and RJ are stage manager so you choked him out first and foremost right do you remember this yeah I do remember that remember like it was yesterday so every time I see RJ I just think we’re doing a Jujitsu match all over again oh here he goes RJ why are you dressed like the Hamburglar and then there was a there was a fight scene so he was trying to get handsy and then there was a chase scene around the arena as well I had I had to save senko although I think she could have saved herself I don’t think you want any smoke but sango oh that’s good stuff I love it I love it but you know it it is fun though that you know you’re you’re known for you’re known for your for your light-hearted spirit and and the good times but when does the the switch get flipped is it during the walkout is it just during fight week because you’re even jovial with us but we know obviously the mean guy is in there uh you know what it just flips when it has to flip you know it’s like uh kids gets to doing too many playing at school and he comes home and then all of a sudden the bad guy’s there but uh in the cage they lock the door I hear that clink and uh I usually talk to my coach for a couple seconds and they say are you ready to fight I look over and you know I’m ready to do what I do best now I’m always concerned about you at fights man because every on every card is like you and somebody else that you’re not fighting that you have beef with yeah was that the case this week no it’s been a very smooth week I don’t I don’t have problems with anybody out here it’s been a great car they match it together beautifully I’ve seen Marvin Victoria at the pi and he’s 85 on 170. uh if I go back to 85 maybe I hate him again but right now I’m just handling business you know nice nice before we let you get out of here what’s your favorite Mexican food to eat uh carne asada fries at all times light beans like guac and no pico making it for me there you go guys it’s those Mexican french fries I love it I love it all right you’re one of a kind Kevin thank you so much
