let’s take a look at the main card this is going down in Jersey uh we’ve got mahat versus porier Strickland Costa Holland oek ala versus Romana Brown versus celesti Dos Santo that is our main card and that is straight fire but Dean we need to talk about this fight DP getting a chance to take down Mev what do you make of this fight this is a spot for DP this is an opportunity for him to write the wrongs that he had in the kabib fight and also to fulfill his dream of becoming the Undisputed world champion and that’s something that he’s always wanted I think that’s something that he continued to fight for and that was to be the world champion and now he finds himself in a situation of where he can do that and against a guy that he’s familiar with the style of so he knows what he did wrong in the khabib fight and go back to Camp fix those things then go out there and try to become a world champion yeah we don’t know if he’ll be hunting for the Gillies but let’s take a look at these numbers side by side because submission wise Mev with his six Subs that’s top five in UFC lightweight history but oh by the way Pier’s nine Knockouts are also top five obviously strikes per minute porier does have the edge and we know the edge obviously in the takedowns goes to the champ and obviously with the takedown defense but Anthony what do you make of the matchup I love the matchup I don’t I don’t know that it’s as cookie cutter as maybe everyone wants to make it seem because there was the khabib fight with DUS and pory I think that Islam is more willing to engage in more areas than khabib was I I think that across the board I think that Islam’s a better fighter but I think his style gives Dustin poier more opportunities uh to be successful if if if DP can land something big early and get Islam to back off a little bit they’re different types of wrestlers uh in terms of Islam and khabib uh they’re different types of Strikers and I think that Dustin is very very dangerous on his feet and Islam has already acknowledge that uh you know he’s cracking jokes that he’s not going to he’s not going to get that Guillotine on him I think this fight is much closer than a lot of people are giving the credit for and I think that Dustin por knows this is his probably his last opportunity to win undefeated or Undisputed gold uh and I think we’re going to see the best Dustin porier can he can he keep Islam off his back I don’t know we’re going to find out and I can’t wait to see it I don’t know I can’t wait either so that is June 1st uh in Newark New Jersey so you guys can go ahead and order UFC 302 right now [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
