Mackenzie package inside T-Mobile Arena joined by the flyweight Champion Alexa Grosso an incredible way to cap off a really really fun card a fun night and weekend here in Las Vegas what sort of emotions are you feeling after the fight I’m super happy you know I knew this was going to be a war what I promised I was doing my best all the time and that’s what I do an absolute War through five whole rounds when you fought Valentina this time though how did it feel in comparison to the first time you two thought yeah well I knew that she was coming you know different than before but I was prepared for that I was prepared for everything and yeah I was just having fun doing my things and you know trying always to to get the best positions the crowd was incredible I can’t I lost track of how many times this is chant came out it was really really awesome and I went up into the crowd just to see the atmosphere and it was Unreal could you feel that energy inside the Octagon yeah it was pretty cool you know um when you have a lot of people supporting you you can feel the energy you can feel the power and it was huge it was amazing and I’m super thankful for everyone who had the time to come when it comes time for the scorecards to be read and you when you hear The Judge first you know okay it’s at least a split decision if not something else in this case the split draw what were your thoughts when you heard Bruce reading off the scorecards uh well it’s not on me you know I did a knock down I was you know all the time like trying to finish you know I think it was wrong around what that she had control but no damage uh but you know I’m not the judge I’m not the judge and I did I did everything I had to do and and that’s what I’m taking from this fight you know I I did a nice knock down and you know almost finished her again there were a couple moments where you had the same position that you had finished her the first time what goes through your mind in those moments where you’re in the same exact position I think it came in like the fourth or the fifth round again and I was sitting there like oh my gosh what’s going through your mind in those moments yeah it came you know I was trying my best but like I said she’s super competitive we can forget like uh everything that she has done she’s super competitive too and and I’m glad to always have you know good opponents because it just make me better and better and you know just just think you know for these opportunities the growth we’ve seen from you in the last six months since you won about the confidence that you carry around now you were always confident but this is another level do you feel that we’re confident never overcome not overconfident but your confidence has grown definitely and you carry yourself well as a champion do you feel that growth in yourself well I mean it’s just training you know the thing is every day in the gym is giving your best and more and more and more and my coaches are always super strict with me um now like you’re the champion you’re the number one you have to stay at that level all the time all the time all the time no no back always forward always upper always faster so um it’s huge I’m glad that I have those these coaches that are making me better and I think that’s just you know training have you had the chance to speak to Valentina either in the inside the Octagon after the decision or in passing since then no no I just uh we just had a hug and then say thank you probably the most beautiful but also the most challenging thing of the sport is the fact that you know these things happens maybe a Trilogy could be next is that as Champion what you would like or maybe moving on to other opponents uh I don’t know I have to talk that with my coaches and with the with the UFC and let’s see let’s see what’s next when you continue to think of the reign of Alexa Grosso as it continues to unfold what does it look like uh training just training and training more like I have to do a lot of things I have to keep learning I have to keep improving so that’s my focus right now pleasure and an honor oh wait Mexican Independence Day an incredible what a week it really was it was so amazing but to be a part of such a historic card that traditionally in Las Vegas fighting but this time it was UFC and you were the main event what did that mean for you to be a part of such a landmark um well it’s huge you know this this date is super important I’m thankful with the UFC for this big big car and I knew that all the Mexicans that fought here were amazing and we’re just gonna continue doing it I think it should be a yearly thing what about you okay yeah I hope every September September 16th we can have a card like this thank you so much celebrating
