Listen, possibly I know we just got fired, but I'm not trying to go before the 5 months is
over. Jail. I promise you I did not say the f word. I promise you I did not say the f- word.

What's happening guys? Welcome to another episode of Good Guy Bad Guy. Daniel, I come to you with breaking news. Jon Jones just signed a signature
handcuff collection deal. This is big stuff. This is flying off the shelf. You're going to want to get yourself a
pair. You're lying. You're lying. I'm depressed, DC. Yes, I'm lying. Bad
guys lie. And I don't come to you in the greatest of spirits if we're just putting everything on the table. How are you today, though?
I'm I'm good, man. You know, hey, listen. We We work for people, right? When you work for people, you just kind
of got to flow with the news. And obviously it's a massive day for the UFC. Uh tremendous deal. Uh sad because
we know so many and love so many at ESPN. But I mean chill, we had to move on from Fox to ESPN and now it'll be uh
this to Paramount. But at the end of the day, you and I have the opportunity to do this show for the next five months,
continue to do good guy, bad guy, and also continue to talk fights. And last week in Chelp, we had some fights, my
brother. When I tell you, I go to the Apex and every time the show starts, I'm like, I love the Apex. And people like,
dude, why? You get to call fights and arenas full of people and that's awesome. But dude, at the Apex, it's
that intimate setting. And in most cases, the fights are crazy because
you have a very clear favorite and then you have a person that's maybe not as good. Elijah Smith
fought and in his UFC debut, he's a super highly touted prospect. His dad
fought in the UFC, Colorado state champ, has done everything, which in in and of itself is so tough because you imagine
Theorough having to fight. I don't know if I could let Daniel do it. I I wrestling. sure fighting I don't know
but Elijah Smith had all this hype comes off the contender series super young
does a great job in his first fight beating someone he had trained with prior but he was very disappointed in
his performance said he wasn't aggressive enough dude on Saturday he was very aggressive from the start of
the fight then eventually his opponent puts him in a triangle choke JLP he stands up he power bombs him like
Rampage like Gerald Harris back in the But this this time, Chill, he's got his
his forearm in the kid's neck and he slams him to the mat. The guy's out the
moment they hit the ground. But then my boy Chris Yon is not in position. Dude
takes two unwarranted shots and then he is just out. It was one of the most violent knockouts jail I've ever seen.
And I've been doing this for a long time now, calling it and fighting inside the octagon. So, that that was an awesome
recap. I got to tell you, just bravo. I'm learn I'm learning from you right now and I'm going to follow your lead on
this. Now, I want to go back to Elijah. You met him, Daniel. Do you remember him? He came to the set of The Ultimate
Fighter. So, that you talk about his father. His father is Gilbert uh and Gilbert was was on my team, Gilbert
Smith, on season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter. Oh, yeah. He came out to Oregon and we
trained together. So at any rate, those boys had stopped by after after Elijah's last fight out there. He stopped by the
set of the Ultimate Fighter. He actually met him. He's a fine young man. I I I loved everything that you said and I I
will only I will see you and I will raise you one thing, which is I thought it was cool when he shouted out Rampage.
That brought a certain nostalgia to you uh to me. I also feel that Rampage, as big of a star as he is, is is kind of
one of the the forgotten heroes in some in some ways. You know, he was fighting at a time when a lot of people were
watching, but not the same people and not as many as are watching now. And I I think he was one of the originals.
I would get asked about Daniel Cormier and and Conor McGregor and Chel Sunen for, you know, who who could cut
interviews, but I always feel they're leaving out one. I feel like, hey, you're leaving out Rampage. Rampage was
one of the originals that in my living rooms when I when I have would host fight nights that people would actually tell you,
"Quiet, quiet, quiet. I want to hear what he says." And that had just never happened at a at a fight party before.
So, at any rate, yes, it it was awesome. You know, that that Elijah is not to be messed with. He doesn't look overly
strong, whereas Rampage does. That's why I took the time to make this comparison. But Daniel, damn it, he is. You can't
just pick somebody up. You can't just bring them down with that type of force. And then you want to talk about a killer instinct,
he followed up. And whether those shots, you know, should have been stopped or not, either way, they're hard to land
even on a laying target that's there. It's very hard in that position if you just got strangled to land right on the
mark. It showed a a real athleticism quite frankly. Joe, I got to be honest. I've watched
this thing for a while. And when that slam landed, which by the way, I'm going to ask you, should we do away with it?
And that was the first time I felt like maybe it shouldn't be legal. Generally,
I don't care. When Rampage did it back in the day, whatever. When Gerald did it, I was octagon side with Gerald. It
wasn't a big deal. But that one it was it was it was concerning because of the
kid the kid didn't move. So chill as I've never heard the Apex go quieter.
Frankie Edric got knee by uh by Cory Sanhagen one time he went flat. It was
eerily quiet inside the Apex. Last weekend it was worse. That kid I can't
remember the kid's name. I I I need to look it up. I got in my notes. when he went down jail, he did not move.
So, not only did um the crowd
seem scared, everyone in the building seemed scared. It was Kazama, Kazami. Uh
he didn't move. So, when I go in there, Elijah celebrating initially and then he
looks at him and he drops to his knees and kind of goes and I got to walk past this man and
interview him. Ch. He's just laying on the ground still. It was the That was the first time I was very concerned that
something bad had happened. And you know when is bad? Dr. D and him run next to the octagon. The matchmaker comes out.
Sean Shelby comes out to the octagon. Everybody was by the octagon watching to
see the kid. And I go into the octagon to interview Elijah and I look at him because he's still laying there. But I
saw him doing this. So that gave me like a little bit of relief that he was going to be okay.
And and DC, by the way, put you in a bit of a position. What What is the professional rule on that? Do you
exactly what's the vibe when the opponent is down? I don't know. Like, so like, right,
how do you turn off that adrenaline ch? You and I both know the adrenaline that's coursing through your body after you win a fight, especially in that
fashion. So anyone that goes, Elijah, that was classless. He should not have celebrated. He can't turn that off.
You're riding a high that is like unmatched by anything. So when I go to
interview him, the first question I had to ask him was, was he concerned about his opponent? And he immediately, bro,
gave him his roses, was very like nice about everything. But yeah, it's it's a weird situation to see a guy laying on
the floor while you're uh while you're interviewing a guy that just knocked him out. Should we talk about ban this?
Should we ban it? When when you talk about that slam DC and and we referenced it back to when Rampage did that, it was
an organization called Pride in Japan. The opponent was Ricardo Arona and the year was roughly 2006. At any rate, when
you pick the guy up, the the the higher you gain elevation in the sport of wrestling, you can take a guy off of his
feet, but you were responsible to put him down in one piece. But you got to hit first. You can't put
him down first. And that isn't a rule in MMA. So when when Elijah picks the the young man up
as he brings him down with as much force as he can and one of the things that also happened with Rampage Arona, it
forces a headbutt when you could Yeah. Well, there you go. When Rampage did it, it was a headbutt. They hit heads and
that was actually what many people believe hurt Arona. And in this case, Elijah brought that forearm on and
that's what was able to drive that head down so fast. And I'm I'm referencing this because you talked about
should that be legal? And they have ruled in the state of California, Andy Foster ruled for the sport of grappling
when they go out there and they do Eddie Bravo just for example, that you can't do slams. And the reason that Andy ruled
that is he argued the slam is a blow and there's no blow in grappling. But I want you to hear the argument. The argument
is that when you bring the guy down, the mat the mat itself is delivering a blow
and that's why it's banned in in grappling. And I offer that example because maybe that'll help our viewers to understand why this is so
devastating. You are being hit. You're being picked up and hit, but you're being hit by the canvas. And as far as a
rule goes, that is a complicated one. There are very few rules that you have
to follow, right? One is you can't hit him behind the head. That you hit him behind the head, that's the biggest no
no. But if you slam him, what hits first, Sh? The head. Back of the head. Back of the head. the back of the head.
So, there's a reason we don't get the punch behind the back of the head. So, if I'm being honest, like I don't know
that I would be opposed to that being uh done away with, especially in that fash.
I mean, chill. He got up on his toes and then he just boom. It was like the Undertaker, Kevin Nash, Big Daddy, Cool
Diesel, the ra the razor's edge. It was every finishing move you've ever seen
all in one. So, while slamming a person right down on their head is illegal, I would I would I would probably say I
would not be too mad if they did away with that, just the impact on the back of the head is is crazy. And so, like in
most cases that becomes the story of the night, right? Like hands down, like
nothing is going to be bigger than what Elijah Smith did. But as the night goes on, we have more knockouts, we have more
great fights, and then we get to the the main event. We have 10 versus nine. Roman Deise, who's a monster, who just
looked great against uh Marvin Vtori, great cardio, threw more strikes than he ever threw in his life, fights Fluffy
Hernandez, who started his career 0 and2, won seven in a row and put himself in the top 10, gets dominated. Fluffy
Hernandez looked as good as anyone I've seen in a real long time. I swear,
Chill, I said it on air. It reminded me of back in the day when Kane Velasquez
would just destroy guys with his cardio and he be they started calling him cardio Kane because nobody could go with
him. Bro, that Fluffy Hernandez Chelp is amazing. He's the real deal. Now, I just
I just got to warn you when you're saying fluffy. It's coming out as they
are saying effing. I thought you said effing Hernandez two different times. So, I just got to tell the audience.
You're saying Anthony Anthony Fluffy Hernandez, which is Listen, possibly the
I know we I know we just got fired, but I'm not trying to go before the five months is over, Jill. I promise you I
did not say the f- word. I promise you I did not say the f- word.
All right. All right. I love it. Let's just put out Let's put it all out there today. Okay. I want to make a comparison
on Fluffy as well, cuz this dude is flat scary in my opinion. And if he is marketed the right way, and that's going
to come down to him and personal choice and how he leverages. But this guy needs to know about himself, he is scary. He
is a street fighter. He is the most clear street fighter that we have. He snatched that guy up from he snatched
him up and walked him backwards like a bouncer would do in a bar as he went unconscious and he didn't feel bad about
it. This guy looks scared the first time I ever put eyes on him. He's fighting Kevin Lee now. I know Kevin Lee inside
and out. I've trained with Kevin. He stayed at my house. I mean, I know how tough Kevin Lee is. And I'm watching this guy called Hernandez. Nobody knew
who he was. Now he's on a eight fight win streak. Nobody knew who he was. He didn't belong in there with a former title challenger. And that was the day.
That's one of these eight that we speak about. And I'll I'll just never forget him since then. You remember uh Joseph
Morales, Bo from my team, the ultimate fighter we're doing. This is his teammate. They train together every day.
I just spoke to Joseph and and when I'm speaking to him, he's in the car with Fluffy Hernandez and and Fluffy was
excited to hear my voice and that really gave me a boost because, you know, that's today's star. When when today's
stars knows who you are, it makes you feel good. But I'm only sharing with you, Daniel, you will remember Roberto Duran. Roberto Duran was a street
fighter with cardio. He was a street guy that worked really hard. And that's what
Fluffy Hernandez reminds me of. these moves that he's doing. These are these
are prison techniques. Yeah. And it was it was he's so mean. He uses a meanness and and and you can feel it.
And I think he needs to run with that. I think he needs to run with the image and the perception that people have. When I
talked to him on the phone, he's a very sweet guy. Let the sweet guy go. Be adult. Let it go. Let Fluffy go and and bring
in I would start Hey, I would start pretending I went to jail before and everything. I'll give him a real story.
Chill. I'm just going to the next level. Like he want to talk about Hey, you know what was funny though? Dominic Cruz said
something. Yo, there's a new Dominick Cruz since he retired. He's not angry anymore. And he was awesome to work with last weekend. You know what he said? He
goes, "Fluffy Hernandez fights you as if like he was a little kind of chubby kid. So, he got that nickname Fluffy and
everybody's paying for whoever gave him that nickname because now he's fighting in the UFC and people are calling him
Fluffy." He said because of that he just beats the crap out of people. But what
was most impressive to me was the way he went at the league. Never slowed down.
Never got tired. I asked him chill. I said, "No, why' you have to dog him out like that?" Like you choking him. Why
drag him backwards? The only time we see that is like you said when a dude gets too drunk at a bar, the bouncer got to
catch him behind the neck and drag him out of the club. Fluffy got Fluffy is doing that to one of the best fighters
in the world. Roman Deise is tapping as he is dragging him. That's embarrassing.
Jill, I'm I I love Deise. He's a tough dude. But after watching that, it's
like, man, Fluffy Hernandez, he took away some of his mystique, right? If there's Mystique, when you get beat like
that, crazy. Dana comes up to us in the middle of the fight and goes, "It's very weird that I don't see guys putting
hooks anymore when a guy gives their back." I go, "Fluffy doesn't want him to get submitted yet." I go, "He wants to
beat him up and punish him." So every time he would take him down, the lead is like shelled up. Fluffy would just beat
him up from the side, ride him, chill with a deep waist. He would ride him with a deep waist, break him down to his
hip, beat on him. Every time DeLise would go to his back, he would let him up because that's where Delise is
dangerous. There was a point in that fight show like round two where Roman
decided I'm not going to roll to my back because I know that leads to him letting
me up. So, I rather stay on my knees and get beat because the moment he lets me up, he's going to hit me with
combinations, throw me down again, and get you and I both know because we both weaponize cardio. Not to that degree,
but if I take you down, you work up, I'm fine with that because I'll take you down again. And then by the by the fifth
time, you're like, I don't really want to get up because he's going to throw me back down. It's an amazing style to watch. And I said it Saturday and I
believe it now. He's my favorite fighter to watch because I love that grinding
style of fight. So now Fluffy gets in the octagon and he goes, "I've won eight in a row and I'm not even sniffing title
contention." That goes to your point. The middleweight division is better than it's ever been. You got you got Kyle Bao
like you called him last week. So you have Bohalio, you have the Ritter, you have obviously Hamzad, you have Drakus,
you have Sean Strickland, he's not sniffing contention, but he said I want the BMF title fight versus Rineer
Ditter. If you're Reineer Ditter, are you first off, are you taking that fight? Does it make sense? And is that
the best move Fluffy could have made? Because there are a lot of dudes that he that have to get a chance and if IMAVO
is fighting Bahalo, he goes and fights the Ritter. You look good and win. You might jump
everybody. Could he be next? And and Daniel, you have name association, right? I mean, that that's the biggest problem that Fluffy has right now is is
it's just that name association. This is his first main event. You and I are talking about how good Roman is, but we
have to if we want to get Hernandez any credit for what he did, we got to make sure they understand, man, this Dellesi
is not to be messed with. Okay. As he's trying to get that name contention, and I hadn't heard the
Darren, by the way, because he did a postfight interview and I was going to bring to you that he threw out Israel's
name. Now, whether he gets locked in a cage with one of those boys or not, the number one thing he It's not wins, he's
got eight of them. It's not main events, he just was one on the worldwide leader. I mean, not for nothing, what he needs is just people to know that name. That's
a a major game in MMA. How do you get those top How do you get the promoter to want to put you in that spot, but how do
you get those top guys to welcome you and get in there with you to share the octagon as the great Daniel Cormier
would say? So, yes, I'm going to go with yes. I do not believe that he's going to be standing across uh from Durer. I
think that he's probably going to have to work himself just a little bit. But the idea that we're throwing around his
name with title contention, which is another thing that is not going to happen right away. But the fact that we're now throwing the name around, that
is a step. That is a massive step in that direction. That's the kind of thing that can then get you one to two fights
away. You know, it's like it's like crazy that he's had to win that much to even get a sniff because generally you
don't have to win eight, right? Islam won a whole bunch. Max Holloway won a whole bunch. Bal won a whole bunch.
Generally, when those guys start getting that type of momentum, it's really hard to uh to slow them down. So, if I'm if
I'm right near D, knowing how close I am, knowing that I'm one away, I go, "Yes, give me that guy. Give me the guy
that has all that momentum and let me prove that I'm above him. And by pro proving that I'm above him, put me in
front of Bahalo and Imav. Those guys are fighting, dude. That's going to be a crazy fight. I mean, middleweight is
great right now, dude. I'm not going to lie to you, Daniel. It's never been like this, by the way. I mean, and since you brought
that up, may I just tell you if Drizzus wins this weekend, I believe he he's got to be in a stronger discussion for
pound-for-pound list only because this is the hardest the division's ever been ever. I was in that division. I never
had to fight 10 guys like this. Like, chill. And that's perfect, right? That's a great way to like move on to
the next because we are talking about Fluffy Hernandez, his cardio, his pace, and all that as a
real problem. But everyone sees Hamzot as the
boogeyman of this division. And Drakus is just right away going, I'mma beat the boogeyman. I'm going to beat the
boogeyman. And I'm going to beat the boogeyman bad. Is Hamza Chamay the
scariest middleweight contender we've ever seen. I mean, what he has done to some of these guys
truly has been scary. Now, when he fought Kamaru at 185,
Camaro is just really, really good and he didn't have time to prepare for him. But when he did what he did to Robert
Whitaker, I was like, man, nobody does that to We've seen Rob lose. We've seen
Rob get knocked out by Draers, but we've never seen Rob get just absolutely dominated the way Hamza did to him. So,
I believe I don't know if I've seen anyone like this, but Draus is like,
"Bring it on." That's what I love about Duplex. He's like, "Hey, bring it on. I'll show you as I've shown you time and
time again. Is he the scariest?" And did you happen to see the video going around on Chamay of where he's
pure wrestling, got the shoes on and everything with Sagal? He's actually pretty good, man. Yeah. He's in camp.
He's in but he's in camp with uh with Sajal and I saw a video of him the other
day sitting in a wrestling seminar with one of the other ones. It's uh what's the one the one that that just
came back? The one that just came back. I saw it as well and I can't produce his name only because it's a Russian name. It's very hard for me to say, but I I
saw the clip and I I want to answer your question because he sure was I mean this is a media
darling Chamaya when he got his run when he fought and then eight days later he fought again and it was two different
weight classes over on Fight Island. This is how he debuts and he comes back against Gerald Merchant 3 just for example switched weight classes again.
He was a top three media darling of all time and it only goes Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey and Chamay. Now, a lot of
that media has died down and so is the fear of Chamay to some degree and I don't know if people have lost a little
bit of luster for Chamay. I don't know because I don't and he's coming off his single greatest performance. The night
that he beat Robert Whitaker, they came out with a mythical line. Chamaya versus Drius. And Chamaya was a 3 to1 favorite.
I wonder what he got, Daniel. I it's as though people forgot what he did to Whitaker or they gained
an appreciation for how damn good Drius is because that line has completely
changed and I think own heart too. I feel it in my heart like hey Chamay
you're great but you had better take this guy down and you better be in shape to do it for 25 minutes. And I'm just
sharing that yeah I think he's the boogeyman. I think he's the guy behind the scenes that Dana can't get matches
for. The the guys are saying, "No, I don't want to deal with him." But Drius is turning into that guy. I mean, he's
got quite an opportunity here. If he gets past Jamaia truly all-time great
status is going to be looking him in the face. Well, what happens if DDP What if What happens if DDP uh
beats him? Then what are they going to say if Drakus beats Chamay next after beating Shawn Strickland twice, beating
Israel Edna? Like what do they say next about Drake is Duplexie and Robert
Whitaker and everybody else? And if Chamay had a a issue, right, it was the
cardio. At least it seemed to be cuz in the Gilbert Burns fight, it looked like he slowed down a little bit. Gilbert
Burns a dog, by the way. So that goes to show you how good he was when he was fighting uh at at his peak cuz the way
he fought Chamay. Dude, I saw a video. Chill. Chill. The aerodyine bike. Ladies and gentlemen,
listen to me when I tell you. Chill and I will speak to this. The aerodyine bike in every wrestling facility in the
world, you will find an aerodyine bike. There are many ways it is built. They used to be gold and old. They had small
fans. They have big fans. But in every wrestling facility you walk in, there will be a set of aerodyine bikes. In
every MMA gym, you'll find aerodyine bikes. Airdine bikes are the most difficult thing in the world to conquer
because you can't conquer them because sh every day the aerodyine bike will be there. You still got to pedal it. And
even if you try to break it, you break it, they'll fix it. And you still got to deal with the aerodyine bike. It's an
opponent you can't beat. It's the hardest thing in the world. I'm telling you this right now because as hard as
that thing is, I saw Hamza Chamay who many thought has the cardio issue doing
the aerodyine bite. But instead of taking that unbeatable piece of equipment that we have all used for 30
years of our life, coach Cal and Hamza Chamay decide that it's not enough
resistance. So now Hamza Chamay is taking that unbeatable piece of equipment. Guys, coach Kalanim have now
taken resistance bands and put them on the bars of the
aerodyine bike to make the aerodyine bike harder. Every great fighter you
know, every great the whole Mount Rushmore, every great wrestler you know
has tried to beat the aine bike and they have all been unsuccessful. So what did they do to make sure his cardio is on
point? They somehow made it harder chill. So, if cardio is not an issue, did you see that video of him with the
resistance bands? I mean, there are four bands. There's one around his waist. There's one around each bar. Like, what
are we doing here? I I actually haven't seen it, but I have two of them in my garage. And I agree, for workouts,
that's the monster workout. There's There's nothing hard. I used to think running stairs was the hardest. You could put a guy on your back, it's still
not as hard as that damn aerodyine. And to add a resistance to it, by the way, I maxed out on an aerodyine, Daniel, and I
tried this many times, but my all-time max, I got 3 minutes and 30 seconds above 80. So, I had to get it to 80 RPMs
and hold it there or higher record. And don't forget, I'm gassed up on EPO
and that's still that's an alltime record was 330. Yeah. To put resistance
bands truly impressive. Can you imagine as you're trying to do this and I'm pulling the freaking band to make sure
you can't get it going forward and backwards. My buddy Scott, his dad, he had the
crazy wrestling dad. His dad was an old Olympian and and and his dad kicks him out of the car and he's got to he's got to push the car like out of nowhere.
He's riding home and he's a wrestler and the state tournament's coming up and his dad kicks him out. That that was breaking my buddy, but he still did it.
He goes bend and he's pushing this damn old pickup. What broke him to this day
is he saw the brake lights come on. He's back at the tailgate pushing as hard as
trying not to move the car. His dad's a psychopath. His dad's His dad's tapping the brakes.
My buddy Scott's 16 years old and he's like, "No, this is" and I don't blame
him. I don't blame him. So when you tell me I got to go do do an aerodyine workout, that's a depressing feel. when I show up and I see resistance bands.
Hey man, that's a mental exercise as much as that is physical to get through that.
Oh, I love that. I love chill. I mean, honestly, you are like moving me into the next topic. So, well, so mentally,
right? You you said that mental and so many great fighters say that fighting is more mental than it is physical because
again, whatever your mind tells the body to do, the body will respond, especially when you're a high performance athlete.
Draus Duplesi was the underdog against Shawn Strickland. He was the underdog
against Israel Adisagna as the champion and he is now the underdog against Hamza Chamaya. Do you think that that role
motivates Dreas Dup? Like it's the same as what it's always been where every
time he goes out there he has an opportunity to prove himself to people.
And I I I tell you that I know that it means something to him, Chill, because one time he tried an inside trip and I
was on the broadcast and started laughing at the beginning of his career. I was like, "Oh my god, this guy doesn't know what he's doing." But he somehow
scored the takedown. He comes into the room on the next fighter meeting and he goes, "Just wait till next time. Watch.
You'll see my wrestling. You think I can't wrestle?" And then he wrestled better. And I was like, "Well, Draers did good. That was much better than last
time, but still not very good." He comes in the next meeting. Just wait. And then he looked better again and every time.
So now I just shut up. Like I don't really make fun of Drakers anymore. But does that help him being the underdog in
a familiar role? It doesn't intimidate him. Like this is very real. And generally in a fight both
guys know who's going to win. Now I know the audience is going to hear that. Oh, they both have supreme confidence and they believe in themselves. No, they
don't. Most fights both guys got a pretty good idea of who's going to win. Every now and then you have a classic
fight and one of the the ingredients to that is both guys truly think it's them. They're not just playing around. Listen,
I don't know how good Drikus is anymore than you do. I mean, he he used to fancy his wrestling. I see him go up and beat
Osana in a standup fight. So, all of a sudden, I mean, he's pretty good. Daniel, I'm supposed to fly in, excuse
me, on Wednesday uh to to Chicago. I'm actually going out tonight. I'm going to meet Drius, who I've never met. I'm
going to meet Drius in the workout room at the host hotel and I he's allowing me
to enter the room with a camera. So I am I am going to film awesome. Hey and I want to see it. Yeah, that's
where you see like what he does in preparation on a Monday. That's a big deal.
That's where you can really How are you doing that all of a sudden? How are you getting access like this? Danny Rubenstein hooked it up. I've
never met Drius. I just I mean you got to go you got you got to go into Chamay's camp. Now you're going into Drius' camp.
Yep. Hey, you need to do a best of like instead of just putting the videos, do a best of those training sessions. People
will eat that up, Joe. That's I fully agree with you. But but the one thing about it when you see him in a fight, like I think the drink is going
to be pretty disciplined with a game plan just cuz Jama is such a specialist. That's what what makes me think that. So
that's where going in the practice room, that's where you can really see how good a guy is. Go, whoa, he's got tools all
over the place. I've heard you tell stories of of Kabib, just for example, but the rest of us didn't totally see
it. Kabib cut him off, pushed him in the fence, took him down. It was rinse and repeat. But guys like you that were in the practice room go, "No, man. This
guy's a complete fighter. He just doesn't break it out unless he has to." And I'm looking forward to that. I want to see if that's the case with Drias. I
want to see how good this wrestling is and he's going to give me an opportunity to do that. Well, he's going to have to defend takedowns early. So, I think I think
when you break down this fight and you really look at it for what it is, it's can Dracus match the sprint because it's
going to be a sprint early for him with Chamay.
The one thing that they have to hope I'm I'm talking team Dupasi. He's he's got
great cardio and we used to always talk about he was tired because of the way he breathes but he said he had a bad nose.
Now he doesn't have that. So he doesn't breathe through his mouth anymore. The one thing that could be concerning
for team Duplexi is if all this cardio training that he's done worked in terms of Chamay to where the sprint because
even against Usman Chamay took him down like three or four times in the first round but Usman kept getting up so it
slowed down as the fight went on. But imagine if that sprint now can last you
15 minutes. You can't do you cannot I don't care how hard you train. You
cannot do what Jama does for 25 minutes. And if you can, you're it's a problem
because even Fluffy Hernandez, he has great cardio, right? But it's measured. It's not like a sprint. It's a measured
cardio that's constant and is persistent. If he can extend that type of pace to 15
minutes, then that makes him very, very dangerous. Whereas before, Chamaya had
about eight minutes of that sprint, then he became a little bit more normal. Now, is he still one of the best? Absolutely.
But he isn't that like marauding scary guy that's picking up Lee Lii Ling
Leiang or whatever his name is. What's his name? Jing Leang. No one knows. No one know. There's no
way to know for sure. When he picked up him and brought he brought him to Dana and he goes, "Look, look, I got him." He's holding a grown
man in his arms. Throws him down and chokes him out. That happens in minute 1 to five, not
minutes 7 to 10, you know? So like he becomes a little bit more normal even though he's still one of the best in the world. But DDP's
coach said, "Hey, the guy's onedimensional. Have you seen his standup? I wouldn't even give him a
prolic for his standup. He doesn't present any problem for us. We are the problem. Team Duplex, he's confident."
And Ch, why wouldn't they be? Look at what their guy has done. He just submitted Izzy and he beat Shawn
Strickland in a standup fight. His unorthodox style they believe will be a
problem for Hamzachimay. Drius used to train with the South African national team. I thought he was
a wrestler and he would do this with Greco Roman and an American wrestler sand Donovan's the one that told me this. He said man I was in the room with
him. He came when South America ca South Africa came to the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs. Drius was
with him and Drius never talks about his wrestling. I don't I don't ever hear him uh necessarily say it. So, I'm just
sharing with you like the confidence that he has. He needed a takedown against Darren Till. This was a dog fight, one a piece going into the third.
He needed a takedown. He made one effort and he got the takedown. I mean, just to remind you, it was stand up and it was a
double and and drinkish just moves in a a very compelling way. Daniel, you you did one thing real interesting. I'd like
to uh just kind of go back to it. You talked about Chamaya's cardio being questioned and you then said if he can
do it for 15 minutes and and that's such important math that you did be because people keep saying well if Chamaya wants to have this card he's got
to have 25 minute cardio. No he doesn't. 15 will do it. Yeah.
The math will be on his side. If he comes down and grabs three rounds and then he throws rounds away. You might
remember but Al Jamine Sterling did that. He banked three with Peter Young openly gave away the next two. I mean,
openly let him go and then kept his fingers crossed that he did the math right and the judges agreed with him. But I'm only sharing for you like it's
not as intimidating as some people think. If you in fact do deem that Chamay has a cardio issue, you are wrong
if you say he's got to turn a cardio issue into five good rounds. No, got to turn it into three.
He just needs to turn it into three. Absolutely, man. Hey, chill. This is a big one, man. This is a big time fight.
You could feel it. You can feel the energy that surrounds this fight because it's competitive. Everybody loves when a
fight is competitive and even the people inside of this thing like myself and Cha
and everybody else. We get excited about these where you know you're going to get two of the best fighters in the world.
Two guys fighting at the peak of their powers. Hamzachay being here as long as he has uh being now he's able to come
here because he even said that he goes I didn't have a visa here. He goes I'm no politician. He goes I had a problem with
my visa that's why I couldn't fight but now that's under control so I can be more active. If I can be more present in
your lives, he's going to be here more, training more, using coach cow to get his cardio up to snuff and everything
else. Dreas Dupi, we know that he's special because we've seen it time and
time again. No one is better than the guy that you doubt time and time again
that shows up and shows out every time he gets an opportunity to. That's what DDP has been to the middleweight
division. He's the He's the UFC champion and he's defending multiple times and not many people have done that. So, he's
starting to put together one of those great title rings that people are going to remember long past Dreas Duplex Cy
being an active fighter inside the UFC. But, I think he might have the most difficult challenge of his title reign
this weekend in Chicago. And guess what? Chill and I will be live from Chicago for good guy this weekend. So, make sure
you guys tap in and don't miss uh us down in the shai what championships won. Chill. Dude, it was awesome. This was a
great show. It was fun. I love when we get into the weeds like that. For the bad guy, Chel Sunn, I'm the good guy, or
at least decent guy, Daniel Cormier. Until next time. Peace. [Music]
