have never seen anybody go from number 10 to number two with a loss and our r committee doesn’t have the courage to do that but you do get my point cuz they will move him forward at least four or five spots you know for me CH I disagree uh that last judge who started 4946 for the champ was wrong I thought EG won the second round and the fourth round and I thought that he the fifth round was all he had to win to become the champ and he decided to wrestle to the point that I was speaking to paa’s coach I’m sorry to to pantoja’s coach Pahoa and and he told me they were telling him let him take you down you will outs scramble him and beat him EG said himself he goes I screwed up I blew it by wrestling in round five but he did not get cheated all right I want to move down the card while moving up a weight class I know that morab has got dibs on Ali but Jose Auto look pretty good this weekend do you think possibly he could take on the winner of Shawn and mor rob you know when you got a guy like Jose Aldo who’s a champion a guy that’s been around for a long time and has been so important to the sport coming back and looking like he did I believe he immediately jumps into the conversation I do not believe though it would be fair to move him past guys like Corey San Haagen who has done such great work Corey sanen who actually beat Cheto Vera and then Cheto Vera ultimately won one fight and got a title fight I think it needs to be Corey San Haagen but yes Jose Aldo to me is only one fight away from now fighting for the bantamweight championship of the world and Daniel I’ll answer my own question I don’t predict for the audience that Jose is going to be next but there is a little bit of a precedence I’ll give you an example which is Dan Henderson on his very last fight of his contract there was nothing left and he came in at what seemed a ripe old age of 47 and took on Michael Bisping it went down to a contest I really thought that Dan won now I only bring that to you because we know that these things can be done and there is something known as process of elimination and if nobody shows up for the job the one person that put his resume and gets it and that’s the land that Jose might live in cuz I don’t think any of these 35 Pounders are smart enough to call him out that’s exactly what happened last weekend with ersag right number 10 got a title shot because he was the one available and obviously he did really well round three CHP you look at Michelle Pera he’s out there fighting he does a backflip what do you call that backflip in mix martial arts because I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it happen before outside of Michelle Pereira I was proud of the announced team truly you Paul Feller and John anck and the reason was I’m sitting at the room at ESPN watching this that move happens and I yell out loud he has found a way to cheat he has found a way to drop a knee onto the face of a downed opponent and what an interesting move as well because he played that through in his mind right there’s no scenario where he shows up to practice and the coach says all right everybody uh go hit five back flips on your partner before you go get some water break like that never happened so he just went out he was creative and he did it I love that part of it but he is responsible for where that knee goes you know he landed that knee off the back flip and chill when I walked in there to interview him and I told this cornerman what was going on with the commission they turned white in the face like oh my goodness he may lose this but I thought it was fantastic I think it’s time now for this guy to get a better fighter some better competition he’s not won eight fights in a row and he’s looked better every single time going in there love that he has the creativity to do that dangerous that he did it in that situation but he’s very impressive fighter I’m in for this guy Daniel Cormier moving on to round number four let me ask you this can can a Hall of Fame exist Can it have credibility if it doesn’t have Shogun HOA in it no you got to have Shogun you know some of the guys that are going into the Hall of Fame this year you know we have Shogun going in we have vanderlay going in that is that is the class that you and I grew up on that is the class of fighter that made us fall in love with mixed martial arts I watched Shogun huel before the UFC but I also watched him in the UFC and I watched the man that was competing at the absolute highest level of the sport and he was past his prime Shogun L Shogun who left his best years in Japan came to the UFC and still became the UFC champion he belongs in there it doesn’t exist without it but how about the boy buff always getting the hug from every Hall of Famer hey I love it Shogun does look great every where he goes He seems to take his older brother ninja who who’s somebody else I grew up on I’m happy for the whole family for both of them for getting this moment and you know what quite frankly I was a little surprised when I found out that Shogun had not already been inducted and traditionally with all great artists we waited until their career is done Shogun more takedowns in the way that all these people are saying is Jon Jones now the smartest man in the UFC CHP or is he uh telling us the truth this will be the biggest fight in UFC history John’s job like all other Champions is to get the biggest fight right to get the biggest paycheck for the easiest match and not for nothing for Jon to call a guy into heavyweight who’s never competed at heavyweight like there was a side of that that I appreciated I just wish that he was trolling if I knew that John was out there trolling and and trying to drive people crazy I would sit back and I would give an an Applause was I’m just not sure that is what he’s doing and you know I I think that maybe he could get to the really big fight I think maybe he even get to Alex Pierre if he had done it a little bit differently just made it personal made it about Alex started talk about well it would be uh three titles for you when I was already planning to leave anyway if he comes right out and tells the audience I got no interest in this other than I think I can take a whole bunch of y’all’s money I think that you’re going about it wrong and I will tell you this though Jon’s not kidding these people want to tell you one thing this is the second time in as many weeks that Jon Jones is talking about opponents that are not Stipe whether it was the face off with asol or now all of a sudden it’s bringing up this huge payday with Pier he is starting to talk and he is very much starting to warm to the idea that his next fight is not his last that is the common theme here yes yes okay so that’s important he chill I’ll be honest with you I I I’m I’m fighting through something here I got I got a little sick in Brazil but I’m fighting through it chill because we want to give the people what this man if I’m an Olympic wrestler or if I’m a national champion and I’m watching the landscape of things valuing the money versus the fame versus the Championships and everything else I’m doing exactly what John’s doing I’m saying to myself I have been in there with the most scary dangerous men in the world I have been in there with extremely well-rounded guys I’ve been in there with tremendous kickboxers I’ve been in there with super heavy punchers I’ve been able to manage that but what I haven’t been in there with is a guy that is a straight kickboxer and while he has improved tremendously in his is grappling no one would ever say that that’s Alex pereira’s strength his strength is a striking and he can knock you out but I remember time and time again over the course of my career when people tell me Roy Nelson was gonna knock me out uh Frank uh sorry Anthony Johnson was gonna knock me out vul was gonna knock me out everybody was going to knock you out Dan Henderson because they all had tremendous power you got to come to the terms with the fact that everybody hits hard not everybody hits like Francis and ganu or Alex but if you can get away from that and manage that it’s much less risky than fighting a guy with a full skill set that’s complete and that’s exactly what Tom Aspen looks to be so I love what JN is doing in terms of being smart finding the right matchup I don’t know that it’ll fly here’s here’s another thing hey give a hat give a tip of the cap to the champion champ goes hey I think you’re proska next analiia is going to have to wait wait smartart Alex why would you fight anath if he’s going to try to wrestle you go fight the dude that you’ve knocked out already these athletes are much smarter today than they were before and I believe that it makes for the sport to be even more interesting I love it I love it I love it I love what John is doing I love what Alex is doing but I think John is choosing dude I’m not fighting Tom Aspen do you see Tom Aspen can’t focus I can’t really do anything so so it goes It goes give the people what they want but then what does he say what’s the next line I think it is give the people what they want and they want it all the time is that what it is I’m going to think about this all day why would you why would you slip that in there give me a break give me a break and then you’re going what what’s the next L why would you put that in people what they want what they want and they want it all the time isn’t that it all right yeah that’s speaking to give the people what they want listen man we do want a little bit more Jon Jones I I mean I’m just I’m just saying we really do want a little bit more Jon Jones I love that he’s doing this there was a while where he was working a gimmick of I am not coming back and it’s just DPE and shame on any of you that would even suggest it’s anybody else that’s the hardest fight it’s the biggest fight and I’m willing to do it man he’s loosen up now he’s calling out 205 Pounders I mean if John really wanted that fight with Pier I I think I mean TR if he truly wanted it John could get it he’s just gonna have to do everything that he’s done in Reverse he’s gonna have to tell Dana White I’m going back to 205 and he’s going to walk away uh from the heavyweight Crown I don’t predict for you that that happen happens I’m just sharing for you if there was something personal those guys really wanted to figure out that would be the issue Dana doesn’t love to combine weight classes for the right match we know there’s exceptions where he will do it but Pier is just not in that spot yet at 205 pounds because he does have guys like Uncle that are sitting there waiting for him I would like I would like John to go back to 205 because he looks stronger he looks more physical and he looks like the baddest man on the planet when he’s down there but chill I got to be honest when we started singing and dancing right we’re we’re Ebony and Ivory right we’re Ebony and IV and we work together in Perfect Harmony but when we were dancing it didn’t look like I was the black guy dancing cuz I’m a horrible dancer it looked terrible it look like two horribly middle-aged white dudes dancing me and you together D we should never dance again we could sing but we should never dance again now CH when I was the heavyweight champ and I was the double Champion people started to talk about the goat oh you’re the greatest of all time and if you retired PE I I still get today if you retired in 2018 after you beat derck Lewis when you were the two-wood Division champion you had lost only to John you would have been considered the greatest fighter of all time revision is history everybody loves it but if Alex Pereira goes up to fight at heavyweight and he wins he becomes the first three Division champion is a guy with 11 fights I think 12 fights total G to be the greatest fighter mixed martial arts has ever seen yeah yeah yeah I I I I don’t know how I don’t know how El it way and I appreciate you staying on track there I’m looking at our runup show and it does it says talk about what a great singer Daniel is and then talk about what a great fire he was at 205 no you you went on that perfectly I don’t want people at home thinking you were punching your own ticket but Daniel the whole thing’s an argument the whole thing I mean it’s this losing course if you set your life aside uh to have this great legacy because it’s going to be people like you and I that are out there to tell the story and not for nothing I’m down at George St Pierre and you might be down to khabib and then I’m going to remind you that khabib stayed at his weight class and he never left and we’re going to push and pull and we’re going to go back and forth unless you have a guy who’s done something that has simply never been done which is three belts and three different weight classes not to mention look at all the world champion he’s beaten this is a very different story if he caught somebody if he went there and caught two somebody’s when he’s not having World title fights and beating world champions he’s having contenders fights where he’s beating guys who used to be world Champions I’ve never seen anything like this and he’s got a lack in skill set there is a great big deficit there in the world of wrestling people love to talk about his grappling you don’t get to Grapple until you wrestle first he’s got non-existent wrestling oh by the way the grappling looks like it could use work but I haven’t seen anybody that can exploit it and I don’t say that to put him down I say that is could you imagine if he was a three-time champion where we all have to concede he’s the greatest ever we have to we now have no choice even though we can see a deficit it’s a fascinating time to be an MMA fan isn’t it crazy that this dude has won two UFC titles in seven fights seven fights we got people fighting in the UFC that have seven fights that haven’t even fought on a main card he’s yeah already headlined UFC 300 he’s already headlined New York City twice he’s done everything he’s beat five former champions in seven UFC fights if he can somehow become the heavyweight champion of the world he has to be in the conversation look I believe that in order to be considered the greatest of all time there has to be some longevity associated with that a long record a long record of winning a history of championships that is why in my opinion George St Pierre is the greatest fighter the UFC has ever seen if not khabib Nega Med off at 280 with with his titles and his title defenses those are the two guys that it comes down to me obviously CH I don’t like to put Anderson and John because I I feel like when you get a bad test you’re out of the equation for the greatest of all time granted I don’t love that they keep Mark Maguire and and Pete Rose and those guys out of the Hall of Fame and Sammy Sosa I don’t think they should be eliminated from all that but I don’t believe you can be considered the greatest of all time but if this man can do that if he can win three titles I do believe that he should be on a short list of guys to be considered the greatest fight of all time because it’s unbelievable and every fight starts on the feet and the one thing that I think is lacking and the one thing I think that people misunderstand or underestimate is that Alex Pereira while he may not have the best takedown defense and he may not be the best at grappling I think he does a tremendous job chill of anti-g grappling so when he gets taken down he doesn’t try to get away so when I would when we were fighting and guys would try to get away that’s when we would latch on the submissions right you get a rear choke when they try to turn to their knees and get to their feet he doesn’t do any of that he literally just stays there and he holds you he holds until the referee either stands him up or the round ends he doesn’t even try to get up and because of that you cannot find ways to submit him you have to create your opportunities he doesn’t give you any if Alex barera started trying to escape I think he would get submitted by some of these guys but he never tries he just stays there and he waits until he gets another opportunity knowing that in the time that he had on his feet he was beating up your legs he was showing you things that you know can knock you out so he puts fear in you so that your game plan goes out the window and the next thing you know you’re fighting with your your heart and you’re fighting with your with your uh ego and then he knocks you out so yeah give the guy credit for his fight IQ yes he would be the greatest fighter of all time also because of the time spent doing it he’s an amazing fighter and he’s tremendous but and there’s go ahead CH well Daniel there’s a little bit of a lmus test on this to to check somebody’s sincerity and it’s a good way for them to check their own sincerity remember that old game uh you’re walking on the beach and you find the thing you rub it and a genie pops out of the bottle you get three wishes okay great here’s one of those wishes your son and this is to anybody not just to you about Daniel Jr and me about tho your son can be given the career of anyone that’s ever done it all a sudden you oh my goodness the George St Pierre and khabibs and the Daniel Cormier and the Jon Jones I would give my son the career of Alex Perera and I would do it for all of the reasons that you thought might keep him off the list which start with the longevity I would like if my son was not in this career 20 years getting punched putting in all those miles being away from his family living out of suitcases I would like it if he didn’t have to go to a thousand wrestling tournaments and make weight first finds a way to hold a guy manipulate a rule SK and get back up to his feet I can’t imagine personally having the lactic acid it takes to wrestle and gra and grav and fight to the ability that could exhaust you for 25 minutes and be able to do that with only seven opportunities I could not imagine being down four rounds turning to my corner man who says You must stop him looking at him and saying okay I’m going to go stop him cut the ring off l two shots and take his these World title away if I could give my son anybody’s career there’s ever been it just might be Pier which just might make me forced to say he’s the best ever oh that hurts that hurts for come on that hurts I think you’re right chill that’s right that’s right CH because if your son you know he doesn’t go through the Knockouts he doesn’t go through all the hard time times you’re right I might give Dan I might give Dan Alex’s career too I for Alex for a guy that spent a lifetime in kickboxing not making any money he’s getting paid but when it comes to getting paid nobody gets paid like this guy I might give liil Dan this guy’s career because of the money that’s associated to it’s Conor McGregor nobody gets paid like McGregor Saturday night we get our first video package of the return of the notorious one it’s Connor all darked out more appropriately titled who should be the backup Fighter for Michael Chandler because if Conor’s out the UFC scrambling who should be the backup fighter in this fight chill I love everything that you just said right there I mean I could go all the way back to you saying that you and Pier have become really good friends when I know that you guys speak different languages live in different states communicate only through uh WhatsApp because you don’t have each other’s phone number and somewhere you asked him how much money are you making I mean like I I I could start with that but saying that he will be the backup Fighter for that fight but he has a list of Demands now before I read you and our audence chill he has demands he can’t have demands yes he has demands to be the backup fighter and before I read those to you and our audience I would like to ask you do you think that those demands and the UFC’s needing and wanting of them or you compare that to me writing down and stuffing it into a bottle and throwing it into the ocean with a tag on it that says NASA to let NASA know my demands to be the first human on Jupiter like which demand is going to be thrown in the trash can first Olive to go to Jupiter and it would be a little different Daniel because you know I’m teasing and I don’t really think that I’m going to Jupiter he really put out a list of Demands he’s not joking about this I will fight on that date if you can’t you can’t you can’t give demands you cannot give demands you have said you know why J you know why you can’t give demands because you have said you would rather fight McGregor than even fight for the world title but now that you lost to Arman sui you’ve lost to Arman now you don’t get to fight for the world title so now you’re essentially in a position where the biggest thing you can get is to fight Conor McGregor and now you’re saying but I have to have these things to happen no Charles tell them I’ll be there I’ll make the way and please Michael Chandler get hurt that’s it you really get there you he has no gr he has no legs he has no legs CH what is this please tell me these List of Demands CH I was on a plane yesterday all day so I never got to like take it this in what are his demands being aware is the difficult thing to do as human beings but Dan you are completely right from a business standpoint he needs to take a real good look at that and understand Chandler’s not pulling out of that fight it doesn’t matter if he has illness or injury McGregor’s not pulling out of that fight without illness or injury he’s actually the most consistent person in UFC history when it turns to signing a contract and following through with it and just come in topheavy hey guys I’ll do the whole thing but my participation for getting licensed and going through training camp and showing up right all of a sudden you get an extra first class ticket you’re in a bigger Suite to to enjoy International fight week where you’re probably going to be getting sozzled up anyway because you damn sure aren’t fighting you know you you you you you take what you get chill you take that first class ticket you take a believe is the most dangerous guy in the division Kobe cumington and Jack Dela matalina chill these guys are such tremendous strike Fighters right but when you look at this Division and you look at Connor and him being having a fight in this division is that going to be with the idea that they move towards the welterweight Elite or you know what is it for and also if there’s a backup fighter does it come from that top five or maybe there’s a 155p pounder that moves up because here our lightweight rankings right you got suian but he’s going to wait for his title fight Ola would seem like the right guy Justin’s out for a while porier said that he has business to take por has business to tend to at Islam next month and Max Holloway was just crowned the BMF Champion so it seems like Charles is honestly The Logical one to be the backup fighter but is this dude gonna do as the kids say fumble the bag they always say fumble the bag right is Charles gonna fumble this opportunity to be the backup guy yeah I am a little bit uh worried about that this is a massive opportunity and and being backup fighter used to be a really cool thing at least in my opinion you got some media you just a little bit harder and it’s a wonderful thing particularly you’re going to get paid which now gives you an opportunity to pay your trainers and your managers for an extra Camp I just think it’s an exciting Thing Once Upon a Time Connor made it uncool to be a backup fighter he came out and made the statement I’m nobody’s backup fighter and then guys didn’t want that spot as much and I disagree I think they should go back to it if you’re being serious uh here of what weight Clash we draw that from it’s very fair but it should be from 155 lbs Dana has not used this example for this
