Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark discuss Francis Ngannou’s ongoing free agency and debate where he’ll eventually fight next.

do you feel like you overplayed his hand and I was asking does it upset you that almost like all these organizations are almost it seems like they’re doing it like oh dude I swear to God RC it seems like almost like what we saw with Lamar Jackson it’s almost like everybody was like hey I was thinking the same thing the same approach it really feels like it’s almost the same thing RC and it’s it’s become very public as well that was the thing that was strange about Lamar as soon as Lamar was given the non-exclusive franchise tag every team that we knew needed a quarterback was like we don’t want him we don’t want Lamar and we’re seeing the same things from these different organizations with Francis and ganu and I do believe some of the Tyson Fury talk may have lured Francis away from the UFC he started to believe that he was a bit more popular or a bit more famous than he actually was and you also know this DC you can be a great fighter you can be an exciting fighter but that doesn’t mean that the public and the fans will view you and clamor for you the way that they do other people right Francis and ganu was not Conor McGregor Francis inganu is not Israel arasanya Francis and gandu is not Daniel Cormier he’s not Jon Jones and I think just because you’re winning you start to feel that way and see what these other people are doing and Francis did overplay his hand a little bit let’s think about this DC people are are going into the UFC Hall of Fame who are true Legends when the Daniel cormier’s the Habib the Morgan medovs the Anderson silvas when those are the sort of names that are retiring from this Sport and going into the UFC Hall of Fame you think to yourself man the game is really going to miss them and as great as all of you guys are and we’re it don’t the game don’t miss you no right they they find it and Dana White finds a way to keep it moving and that’s what seems like happening to Francis and ganubro yeah it sucks it sucks too because Francis was the man right and he leaves and now it seems like the options are very limited because everybody even now he’s responding to the uh he responded to one championship this morning saying they’re being two-faced and everything but I’m telling you RC it felt like it felt like the same thing was happening to them like I’m watching teams that are going I’m like you don’t have a quarterback but you’re not interested in Lamar Jackson this guy was the MVP of the NFL it made no sense and to me it’s the same thing but ultimately Lamar Jackson ends up back in Baltimore I believe that’s what Francis and ganu should do Francis McDonald should just come back because the reality is this the money that he was offered I’ve heard was a very lucrative number if he comes back nothing changes he walks right back into being in the heavyweight title picture fighting for the championship getting paid at that Championship level and rate he doesn’t lose much in that regardless just like Lamar RC Lamar ended up getting the biggest contract ever until Jalen hurts got his but it’s like you you sometimes have to just bite the bullet and go man you know what I’m gonna go back to what’s familiar because you and I both agree that there are some very dangerous fights for him in the boxing arena so while you may cash in one time it may not be sustainable and he’s also 36 years old so he doesn’t have much time he hasn’t fought since last February or January it’s 36 years old time is of the essence for Francis and Gano so he needs to get busy he’s one of my buddies so I hope it all works out for him thank you for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming Sports and premium content subscribe to ESPN Plus
