went down a mental Journey took some
mushrooms I had to come back going go on
a crazy trip

so I now that I’ve
been throng but I think that you’re
undefeated in Main Events here is that
correct
I don’t want to think about it I don’t
want to think about it because this year
has not been my year you know so it’d be
good if I could keep the street going
but
you know this year haven’t been my year
and I want to end the year off with a
bang and it’d be great to get a win here
in Vegas you know
why do you think that this year hasn’t
been your year did do you think
something that you know there was a
reason for that or I don’t know you know
I train hard as I could like this year I
trained probably like the most ever
trained and for both my last both both
fights and it didn’t go my way you know
I did everything the right way and it
still didn’t go my way
um I don’t know I mean I still even
trying even harder for this fight
and so we’ll see how things go Saturday
I believe that I can get the job done
even in the later rounds you know I’m
looking forward to the fourth and the
fifth round and I’m looking forward to a
main event fight this fight
so do you
hope that it goes that that long that
you can kind of show
I kind of hoped
that but if it goes far around that’s
fine but I’m ready I’m excited my coach
has got me ready I’m motivated even
though you know it’s really not too much
for me to be motivated for at this this
point in my career but I am motivated
and I’m ready to get in there
um I feel like I still got a lot left in
the tank

you know we’ll see how things go

quicker than what what I got this week

what I’ve been seeing on the highlights
he liked the wrestle a lot so that I
like that so because I like the wrestle
too but I never really showed that in my

curious if you could speak on that and

career or any inspiration you got from

um because we’re really the same age me
and him and to see how healthy it was a
year ago to see how he was beginning of
the years like real saying just I didn’t
know if it was that serious you know so

not a lot to be moted for in your career
but then you said that you’ve been
training harder for this fight than any
other fight I’m curious why would you
train so hard if you’re still not
motivated to try and get to the top or
something
um I believe that I have to you know
my back is really against the wall now
you know I don’t want to lose street
fights in a row I really don’t even want
to lose one fight and so I already I
take it hard on myself every time I lose
a fight you know I don’t stop thinking
about my last fight until I get a new
fight and so I’m just tired of thinking
about my last fight being some BS you
know the way it ended and so I just want
to come out here this week giving all
that I got
you know I’m almost at the end of my
career and just don’t want to have no
water could have should have whenever
everything all said and done see that
last fight which obviously got stopped
in a really weird way is that almost is
that harder to take because you’re like
man you didn’t even let me show you what
I can do or is it easy to take because

officer should want to fight I believe
that I should want to fight
the game plan that we had for the fight
that it was should have been an easy
fight for me

first season of House of dragons
um it’s been pretty good
um I’m still on the third episode

because I watch it at night and I fall
asleep but it was kind of slow at the
beginning but like the third episode was
pretty good yeah but not so much penises

but I don’t really like all that
the uncle knocking down his niece I

did you like the original Game of
Thrones yeah I love the original Game of
Thrones
um I love Jon Snow of course everybody
does and the way that start off it was
just crazy to see that the father get
his head cut off and I thought he was
like the main character and that’s one
of the reasons why I fell in love with
the show because it’s unpredictable
what do you think of the last season
everyone seems to either really like it
or despise it yeah I like that I liked
it but it was just crazy that that’s how
the main character the what the evil guy
had died come on man all the other stuff

Derek very rarely do you ever have two
losses in a row you talked a little bit
about the mentality side of things did
that take a hit to your your belief in
yourself or to doubt at any point start
to enter or is that the kind of thing
that you just don’t let that even enter
into your head no I don’t think you have
no type of impact on me whatsoever
because you know I’ve been down and out
before and also I look at those fights
and uh it’s like the two of usify I
believe I was winning the fight when
stuff happens and this last one come on

like just like oh Izzy was saying we
need to bring Maserati back man what’s

the same guy we need to bring that back
man for real what did you think about
that Izzy fight did you watch that yeah
I watched it
um I thought he was one in the fight he
was doing good
um it’s like it’s just hard I’m pretty
sure his game plan wasn’t to the back
straight up and Against the Cage I’m
sure that he didn’t want to do that but
is completely different on every step
inside the Octagon you want to do the
game plan but sometimes it just goes
straight out of the window
you know and we’re talking to your
opponent earlier today you know both you
guys are heavy-handed throwers is this
fight as simple as the first person that
that gets that good solid punch is going
to win or is it that you have to be
prepared that you guys have taken the
shots you’ve taken the damage and
training that you have to expect to be
in there till the end whether it be
three rounds five rounds for sure you
know I learned the hallway you know I
believe that even if you hit a guy a
good shot it might not go down so you
gotta prepare yourself to go to distance
so that’s what I’ve I’ve been doing and
supposedly the the Rock is in the
building if you could tell them anything
about what you think about his shoes
what would you say about his shoes come
