Brendan Fitzgerald and Sayif Saud preview the UFC 300 main event between Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira and …
[Music] a can’t miss light heavyweight Clash for the title is set to headline the Epic night that will be UFC 300 the light heavyweight belt is on the line between Alex pada and he takes on the man who never lost it in the Octagon Jamal sweet dreams Hill here for the breakdown once again is headman at foris MMA safe outs safe safe to say that this will be a striker Delight in a fan-friendly matchup absolutely this is a huge matchup former Champion versus the current champion let’s start with the current champion Alex poon Pereira this guy’s got hands of stone that’s what that nickname means but especially that left hook he seems to always find a way to connect that punch even when he’s behind also a devastating kicking game this guy debilitates his opponents gets them reacting takes away their movement also many years of kickboxing a multi-division Champion taking on the former Champion Jamal sweet dreams Hill who never lost the belt like you said also an excellent Striker very good at staying long this guy fights both sides he sets everything up with really tricky footwork also very good at the clinch he grabs the head we saw him on the contender when he busted in the UFC big elbows and big knees this guy’s a dog he’s going to push in the championship rounds this is a really big matchup I can’t wait to see how it turns out and also adding a wrinkle to the matchup Pera coached by Glover toera who Jamal Hill beat in Rio de janiro to get that belt let’s go into a fight Focus not a lot of grappling and take down film that we’re going to break down here because of how these guys fight which makes it you know why we like to watch them we’ll start with the champion and his boxing he’s known for kickboxing but certainly has some heavy hands like we said that the nickname hands of stone he’s got a great jab he uses it to set up that range he shoots it high he shoots it low he gets guys to react and then he hits him with that big left hook let’s take a look at some of the things that Alex does I mean what a scary entrance this is this this alone scares people let’s stop it right here guys this fight in this spot this is the second round Yuri was backing Alex up right he landed a big one two he kind of rocked Alex a little Alex was backing up against the fence just want to set this up for our fans I’m sure most of them saw this but let’s watch what happens here so as he comes in we see him Swig that big right hand but watch he throws that kind of right hook but I want to stop it right here we we talk about the left hook we’re going to look at it but I want to talk about the positioning when he throws his punch just look at this position okay this isn’t a position where you go oh yeah you’re in a great spot right this looks like you’re ready to land a power shot what makes this guy so scary is this guy can throw this punch from here not move his feet not move his hips at all and generate so much power he puts people down he did this in his kickboxing and he’s done it also in the UFC Boom Big hook takes Yuri off his feet and you see when he gets guys hurt man he finds a way to finish collapses him becomes the new light heavyweight champion and here we see him against Yan and this was his first fight in the division and Yan’s a tough test we know Yan beat Izzy we we you know we know that’s a common opponent they have we know Yan knows how to put together as well also a former Champion here we see Alex throwing the hook again but now we see him throwing it at range okay and we’re g to watch how he turns his body here he’s gonna kind of turn things over here he’s going to get the hips turned over the shoulders going to turn over and this is how he throws this at range and we’re going to see Jan he’s going to try to block this punch right we see Jan with a defense but look at what he does he can place this punch long too and he hits Yan here he’s going to knock Yan off balance hurt him right here and now we see there it is watch this jab to the body and we’re going to talk about this this is what he does to set his shots up right he changes those levels and he goes to the body we see Yan here misses up top he gets guys to start re acted right they don’t know is he going to go low or is he going to go high and once he does that he gets him exactly where he needs to be now he’s got yam thinking about high and low this is so interesting when I broke this down and I saw this Alex is different he circles towards the power side and the reason why he does this is because he loves his left hook right but this is unusual right because we’ve got Jan who is a right-handed fighter right this is his power punch and we’re going to watch Alex he’s just going to keep walking over and every time Jan steps over we see Alex step over Jan steps over Alex steps over Yan steps Alex steps once Jan stops Alex stops moving and then we see him step back now the reason why he does that he loves that left hook so much he’ll let guys come in on that side and just bang and now we’re gonna see it he went long now he’s going to go short again and this just shows you the Mastery level he has of this punch watch punch bam smacks him with it again we see he turned himself this time right he turned his body over created that force and again cracks him hurts Jan so he can throw the hook wide he can also throw it in tight here he goes against Jan against the fence again with the level change am I going to shoot to the body this time he throws the uppercut and then the left hook and we’re going to see it again there he goes again shoots it to the body right shoots it low and he gets that reaction from Yan then we’re going to see him kind of pick it y look at Yan’s trying to figure it out where is he going up now he goes back to the face so we get the hands up we start playing defense H well we’re playing defense what opens up the body Shot opens up and here we go we see him he’s got the ability we don’t ever think of him as a great boxer but he’s got the ability to pick guys apart he starts going low they start doing that he starts going high we see him go to the body shot and then again he gets in close here watch this little uppercut bang right he’s always finding the spots so he can put together his boxing really really well against the cage and finally we see him here against Sean Strickland the former middleweight champion and listen say what you want about Sean Strickland he is super durable right he’s very hard to put away and this was early in the fight in the first round and we’re going to see this shoot to the body again he shoots that shot to the body and he gets Shawn to react right gets a reaction from Shawn gets his hands down and we see Shawn here we’re goingon to we’re going to go through this really slowly his hands are up so as he walked in closer he got his hands up he’s got that little Philly shell that he uses so we see that him and Alex right now are what they’re kind of in the same position watch what Alex does here he’s gonna level change and this level changes everything once he level changes to here now he’s down here we see the reaction Strickland thinks what he’s going to shoot it to the body again so he drops his hand which is what you never want let’s watch what this hand does he’s going to drop this arm and it’s exactly what Pereira needs to go right over the top with that longer hook right he turns it over again you see now hips and everything turned over big huge shot Nails him and then watch his fall up right hand boom tags him with that fall up right hand puts him down ends the fight Alex Pereira hands of stone he’s got power in both hands but he’s really deadly with that left hook got to watch out for that punch now we’ll switch over to the Challenger Jamal Hill out of Michigan we won’t focus on any specific element of his striking just striking in general because that’s how he takes care of business most of the time he’s really good at staying long okay he’s got a 79 inch reach he uses it really well he mixes up his punches and his kicks he’s got a really good left kick that he utilizes let’s take a look at some of the things he does the former Champion Jamal Hill making the walk here he is against Glover toera and we’re going to talk about his footwork his footwork sets everything up we’re going to get into that but whenever he’s Southpaw he’s always going outside right he’s always going to make this angle he’s going to keep on trying to make this angle and you’re going to see Glover is going to keep kind of following him right but he’s going to be a Step Ahead the whole time and you see that here he’s going to take this step right and you see Glover just kind of step behind then he steps back again and right now these guys are kind of even right here okay but you’re GNA see Hill is going to go this way and as he does it Glover is gonna just be turning but it’s going to be too late so you see he’ll take that step now watch big step behind now when you look at where he is man he’s made that Lane right he’s way behind this is what you want he’s got that reaction for Glover but now he’s got his left hand his left kick everything’s in front and you see Glover’s out of position and what ends up happening is he lands this body kick really nice bang right and he makes that angle on Glover we’re going to see it again we’ll watch it in the slow-mo and we see again a reaction right strikers are always taking notes they see the reaction we see Glover’s reaction here and Glover’s going to react he’s going to try to block this but it’s going to kind of sneak sneak through there but then you see him kind of bring the hand up there at the end all right so this is in the very beginning of the fight first round I think this is the second round here’s the same setup we get a little Leon Edwards get that hand out first okay we see Glover’s right in front of him we saw Glover’s reaction to the kick and so did Jamal Hill Jamal Hill goes right up top and let’s see him just wrap that right there he wraps that kick right around that block right and if you do this even if you’re here if I can sneak that around that’s exactly what he does he’s going to rockle over bad here and then I like how he goes right back to it bang throws it right back up there again now let’s see this look at how long he stays here and I want you guys to look it right after he lands that kick he steps in the Orthodox right he lands the kick Southpaw but when he steps down he steps Orthodox and extends that jab making himself even longer look at how he’s keeping Glover at the end here now he’s going to throw a big right hand watch him keep the distance and look at him here he’s going to faint here a little overhand he’s got Glover thinking about all kinds of stuff but I want you to start watching how he starts hitting with a jab he’s already fainted the uppercut once this is the punch he’s looking for okay even though he fights Southpaw I really think he might be a right-handed human being because all his power shots a lot of them with the right hand sometimes here sometimes here but watch him load this punch here and we’re going to see Glover’s reaction there’s the jab he’s just watching Glover look at M Hill just watching watching bang he keeps that jab going and he waits Waits boom that’s a huge punch he Nails Glover with so the guy’s patient he does a lot of damage against the fence we see Hill here Hill’s gonna pump this jab and when he punch punch this jab out here he puts this jab and we see Creo think okay maybe the left hand’s coming so let’s stop this right here so he’s worried about this left hand so crew’s thinking I need to get offline okay I need a counter I need to get my head offline all right but that’s not what Hill’s doing and we see Hill he pumps the jab but it’s really the right hand that lands and what CR does he ends up just putting his face right into the line of fire here and gets tagged with this hook and again the foot position battle he’s just outside the foot and he drops CR here but it’s this followup oh man I’m just watch this punch watch how high up this punch comes here from Hill all the way down I mean lazy shot so he’s really good at finding the spot when he gets you hurt we’re going to look at this one more time again throws that out and you can see cro he’s thinking okay I need to go this way right I need to get my head offline I’ll throw this right hand I’ll get my head offline I’ll miss that left hand coming back but that’s just not what happens he ends up just running right into the hook so Hill’s got really good Vision in there he kind of sees a lot of things that are happening and people underestimate that big Power in that right hand too I mean he’s got power on the left as well but he’s not somebody to fool with he can hurt you on the feet great kicks great punches as well and you said people underestimate him I think that can be said by a lot of different aspects of his game he’s very deceptively athletic former basketball player he’s got good footwork to set up these big punches you’re absolutely right he’s got tremendous footwork he’ll switch Orthodox he’ll switch Southpaw all to set up these traps and like I said I think he might even be right-handed he’s got a great right hand great left hand let’s look at some of the things he does so here he is chasing Johnny Walker around okay and we see that he is standing Southpaw right here and Walker is retreating backwards but we’re going to watch Hill’s feet and he’s going to do a real slick little switch and he’s just GNA kind of walk it over now look he just walks it over he kind of here and then just kind of I’m just GNA switch and Johnny actually if you watch him he goes from a southpaw position right here and he starts to switch at the same time this just impresses me so much so Hill’s downloading this information so now as Johnny switch he’s like I’m going to load my right hand too you switch I switch both these guys are going for the kill shot at the exact same moment this is actually really really high drama right they both did a little switch of the stances and they’re both waiting to kind of reset and then they come together he’s making his reads and he’s making his reads but Hill wins this battle he just gets his head a little bit more off the center you see that just a little bit more off the center Johnny firing he’s firing bam he lands that punch kind of right in the top of the head and hurts Johnny stumbles him badly and then jumps on him and stops him so just another way example how he switches his feet around here he’s against OSP and I want you to look at this front kick he uses it but again we see that motion watch him trail out right he’s always trying to get that outside position and he uses this hand right he’ll use it kind of get guys busy hit him with the Jab throw that hook we see him get outside and we saw that left kick against Glover really well to the Head now he’s going to shoot as a front kick and he lands this toes in there right on OSP I mean hits him hurts him to the body and then we see him back to that position where he starts pawing and again watch him here there’s the front kick but let’s watch his position here watch his footwork he’s going to get outside the leg here’s where he likes to be he likes to be right outside of the foot position and what he can do here is he’s got this punch he’s got this he’s got his left kick he really stays here the reason why this might matter is against Alex Pereira we know he has the left hook so this is the battle that’s going to be going on on Southpaw Orthodox really interesting in seeing how these guys make the adjustments and what happens here but very very good footwork he’s he’s always trying to get himself in an advantageous position where he can strike win and move now we go back to Alex Pera and the kicks are something of Legend with this guy no matter what the level is but of course everybody talks about the leg kicks on poon devastating leg kicks debilitates his opponents gets them where they they literally have to switch stances they’re reactive they’re not proactive and it changes the whole fight so let’s take a look at this the way he does this is so different too he doesn’t turn these over at all right I mean you’ve never really seen this right and we’re going to explain this so we talked about the left hook we talked about how he likes to Circle to the that side and how he’s got the left hook well if you switch Orthodox on him he’s got this right kick that he just lands all the time and we’re going to see Yuri here Yuri’s going to switch stances so he’s looking left hook now he’s going to switch right when he switches bang right so when right when you go here and you switch on him he attacks his leg and he’s done this against everybody but here’s the funny thing let’s look at how he does this he’s so straight on he doesn’t turn anything over this foot is going this way a little bit usually this foot supposed to turn out the shoulders are supposed to rotate and you’re supposed to get off the a line can I use it really fast go Orthodox right let’s let’s let’s eat up that big look right usually if I throw this kick I want to put something in front of it so I can get you to react I want to get way over here I want to turn this foot and I want to Pivot that foot right and I want my head to be offline he just goes what’s up bang and he touches the leg the way he does it if you look at this he’s hitting with the foot right here this is the inep this is not what you want on when you throw this kick you want to hit with a shin right okay but he’s so freaking good at kicking and he’s got so much pop he doesn’t need all that so he hits him with the InStep all right what would you think the result is in this okay he’s going to hurt him a little bit you know he’ll be all right nope boom sits him on his butt that’s how much power he has even hitting with the foot not turning it over so we’ll see it one more time here again once you switch that’s all he needs bang he’s going to hit that leg and again we look at the connection point it’s right there I mean there’s no disputing it you know he’s hitting him with the foot so that’s how powerful his punch his kicks are he can take guys off the feet even when he doesn’t connect with his shin here is again oh man and you can see the reactions here from Yuri but again we’re gonna try to focus on the connection Point The Landing Point here because it’s just so different look at this all right he’s hitting him almost with the inside of his ankle again we see look how straight he is this time that foot is barely offline he’s so straight on and the reason we don’t do this is because of the counter but he kind of sits back just enough where he lands it and you see yui he’s reaching for it but man that’s what happens and look at the impact look at the laboring foot man and this is I think this is the first round maybe look at that now we’re trying to close distance and we’re hurt bad now there’s that left hook we come back the other way so he really starts chopping guys down and they really can’t do anything it changes their whole game plan again we look at it in slow motion and we look at the connection right I mean a lot of ankle not a big turn in the foot and again I mean we just cannot explain how straight on he is you just don’t see this and that’s why it’s so hard to see it’s so hard to predict and look at Yuri’s movement he’s so hurt so you keep getting kicked at range you you know what man I’m not staying at range with you dude okay I’m a walk it in so you kind of started being brave and getting close all right I want to get close and you look at this moment here and I just thought this was so impressive like look at this right here he got so close to him I mean their toes are almost touching and we saw Alex he’s just chilling loads and launches this right head kick that he saw Yuri changing levels and Yuri changing levels I don’t know if he was going to go for a takedown or what he was doing but he’s in real close and this looks like death is about to happen but Yuri thank God he’s got that hand up that hand’s going to save him just barely takes the brunt of the kick and you’re going to watch Yuri here he’s gonna acknowledge Pereira right he’s gonna give him a little point right here like hey that was a good shot right here that was a good one he tells him good job man good job you’re slick and it forces him again to switch stances which well we talked about that so he’s like man I got to switch stance here he gives him a little head nod like all right good job that was good bang right back to it again and you you see the kick that was the impact zero turn and this kick hurts him too we’re going to look at his reaction and by this point he was really hurt in the fight this is the second round and he really started to press the action but the damage was already done Alex Pereira will debilitate guys with those leg kicks completely change the fight we talked earlier that we won’t really see any grappling they will work from the clinch and do so effectively especially Jamal hill we don’t want to say we won’t see any grappling both these guys have engaged in this clinch area he doesn’t have any takedowns in the UFC uh we’ve seen him grapple a little bit that’s why we didn’t go far into it just our viewers know they there definitely might be some no submission wins between the two of them yeah I mean Hill obviously he’s got to try to mix this fight up but we don’t want to put a wrestling category in here when there’s no wrestling right so we’ll talk about the clinch work from Hill he’s so good at grabbing the head and really staying on it he’s very very tricky here puts a ton of damage on guys let’s take a look at some of the stuff he does here so again we talk about it Glover the mentor of Alex Pere Alex was cagide for this just just taking it all in right this was a five round fight and I was there for this fight uh and I I remember watching the emotions afterwards as well so I mean there’s definitely a lot coming into this fight from both sides watching your Mentor lose like that you know um so we see this he’s got the body lock he’s in great position but you’re going to see Hill here he he knows what to do he’s going to Pummel inside get some nice pummeling in NS freeze it right here he’s got this underhook okay and he’s going to start working his way back he starts attacking the other side and we’re going to watch what he does he’s very good at stripping the wrist he’s got this underhook I just want you guys to watch this little detail so we’re looking at this left side underhook and we’re going to stop it right here what’s so slick is is right after he does this and the reason I talk about this hand is because you’re going to see what he does he’s going to release this and then he’s going to lift this hand up and kind of open his fingers right here he kind of goes from this and creates a space right for him to open and land that knee so just real slick stuff from the under hook I’m going to kind of lift it up and I’m going to land my strike so that’s the first one then we keep going this just shows you how good he is in the clinch this is Glover to Sher right a UFC champion a guy with so much experience and now we see he’s got a hold of Glover’s arm still he never let go of the arm and he’s pulling Glover in and you can see Glover trying to pull out but he can’t do that and now he tries to grab the head boom Here Comes knee number two so and all of that from holding on to that arm really really slick off that break off that takedown so there’s knee number two and as we move on and we go to the last part we’re going to see him grabb the head now I just just want you guys to watch the details in this and just how he works this Plum right how he goes through this and he’s really really good at this so he’s goingon to grab the head he’s gonna get the plum okay he’s trying to pull the head down he takes a step back he’s nah I’m not happy with that grip let me go hand overhand and get more powerful so the fact that in the middle of that he’s like nah then he puts this leg back he’s ready to rock and roll he’s going to try to bring that down land a big knee but watch is he feels Glover of trying to slip away he’s going to change his legs and switch to this lead knee to the body I don’t know if he was trying to reach the the head or not but lands it right here in the ribs so he’s really good at Landing big shots in the clinch he knows how to pull guys in hold them grab them very very good I look forward to that battle here he is against Abu and we see that right hook that we talked about that’s his entrance but here’s the impressive part okay right way again he punches his way right into the clinch so he gets the head and we’re going to see him land a big knee and this knee is going to be right to the liver I mean this is just perfect placement right again getting the head in off those punches hurts him drops him here this is the end of the fight so he can land powerful knees in end fights you don’t see that a lot body shot ending the fight and lastly this is him on the contender I mean look at how much he grabs this guy’s head if you if you go far away I strike you come in close I grab right so there’s no way out I’m going to stay on you I’m going to put that pace on you devastating in the clinch really good at the details and the Hand fighting all right it begs the question how is Alex peda going to respond to that or use some offense from the clinch of his own let’s take a look it’s a good thing thing he’s a multi-division champion in kickboxing the guy’s developed a great clinch over the years he’s really good at locating really powerful strikes and close and uh this is going to be a real battle the clinch is going to be a real battle so here we go we see Alex Pereira again the rist control is so big right we see all these guys grabbing the wrist stripping the wrist he gets on the wrist here against Bruno Silva and we all know Bruno Silva is a very tough fight we see him and this was a very very good fight we see him pinning the wrist here of Bruno Silva and as he pins the wrist he knows that that hand cannot defend and watch what he does he’s going to break right off that wrist bang Throw That Elbow so just slick stuff right I trap your your wrist and your hand here I know you can’t defend I releasee I go first I land then we’re going to see him he’s going to throw those uppercuts body shots right and he’s real dangerous here okay now he’s back on the head and I want you to see how he fits this knee in here there’s not a whole lot of space right here he’s already starting to pull down on the head we see he’s got that head control right here and we’re gonna watch Bruno Silva he’s going to try to move his hand in the way he he’s going to try to just move his hand in the way but look at at this he sees that little right where that tattoo is boy he’s going he’s going right for those words and he lands this big knee fits it in that tight space and you’re going to see Silva here just his body language I mean he’s hurt he doesn’t do anything for a little while and we talked about poon’s ability to get all that power in those small spaces so he can land those big knees and then big punches after the break hurts bro Silva again with a hook and here he is against Yan and again we don’t know it would make sense that Hill will try to put him against def fence control Against the Cage maybe he’ll go for a taked down we don’t know but this is definitely going to happen and so everybody’s tried to put him against the fence and we’re going to see can he get off the cage we see him he’s got the underhook right here and we see him blocking that hip right and that’s all he needs he blocks that hip and he’s gonna send a big knee right up here and this is what doesn’t allow guys to settle you see Yan he’s like oh man that hurt Yan kind of crumbles over and looks for the shot but we’re going to watch again we’re going to watch R control there it is he grabs up high and he strips that wrist down understanding the risk game is so big because you don’t allow guys to lock their hands and we’re going to see him he’s going to push off get off the fence avoid that punch and once he gets back out here in the middle you know bang let me smack that leg one more time so really good work in the clinch he can do damage he can get off the fence it’s not going to be easy just put him against the cage and take him down really good stuff by both guys it’s going to be a huge part of this fight all right so it may come down to the X Factor what each of these guys are really really good at what is Jamal Hills X Factor simply put this guy as a dog you know I mean he gets after it he believes in himself so much and he’s always like an underdog right it’s like oh everyone’s always counting me out and I kind think he uses that to his advantage and he will pour the pressure on guys in the fourth round we saw him do it against Thiago we saw him do it against Glover and for a big guy I mean you don’t see that right that crazy output to finish so just his sheer pace and will to win is really a big thing here and can he get Pereira to the fourth and fifth round and try to put the gas on here he is against Glover and you know we all respect Glover so much and this was one of those fights where it was like you hated seeing this happen to Glover but we have to talk about it Glover loses almost every fight to a certain extent you know we’ve talked about it a lot he gets hurt a lot but he always comes back and he always finds a way to win Hill would not let him do that this is the fourth round both these guys are busted up Hill’s busted up too right and we go back to the first round when he put him against the fence he was doing all that work let’s just break this down and like watch this same exact thing I’m going to stay long with my here’s the overhand he’s there is the uppercut this is the fourth round look at the output he’s got here Brendan I mean on the everything we talked about the clinch the boxing so he will pour the pressure on and Glover is just so tough man he lasted you know and most guys wouldn’t here so this just shows his Pace his volume a real dog in the fourth round a real dog and again here he’s against Thiago Santos and again this is a similar situation fourth round look again I told you that right hand is powerful big right hand lands it right on the chin hurts Thiago he’s he’s on the head again just a Relentless pace and he shows he’ll finish when he gets a guy hurt he will jump on them he will really put turbo on and I look if he hurts Alex look for him to jump on Alex and try to get him out there and try to get the finish and this really comes down to can he you know how will he miate the the danger in the early rounds to get to that point and now we’re going to talk about yeah his X Factor well the chip on Jamal shoulder is especially big in this matchup I would think especially uh Alex poo what’s the X Factor it’s the power man this guy shown that he could be behind in any fight and when he he lands at left-hand Lucy I mean it’s good night you know it just really doesn’t matter whether it’s a short punch whether it’s a long punch he’s always in the fight even in the fifth round even with two minut left even when you’re losing the middleweight Championship to one of the great middleweights and here we go here he’s against Izzy so we got to talk about this he had taken Izzy’s movement away from the leg kicks and Izzy was ahead you know but he was on The Back Fence and he was kind of waiting and Glover really got on Alex you know in between said you got to go do it you got to stop him and he really responds and he comes right out and we’re going to see him he’s going to back Izzy up he’s going to land big punches but it’s this shot right here it’s this left hook and again I just want you guys to watch this hand I mean these this these are not punches that he gets to wind up a lot he gets kind of a good little movement here but he’s Against the Cage it’s the way he turns that over with the knuckles and you’re going to see the impact here on Israel at asna and watch his chin and just watch his body movement after this this is the punch that really hurts him credit to izy for staying standing too so there’s about two minutes left in this fight and Izzy’s in survival mode but again that that left hand gets him in so much danger Mark Godard steps in here a little bit of controversy but you can definitely see why ends the fight so here he is against Andreas let’s watch how he explodes into this he’s gonna jump straight up here he kind of sees that and he’s trying to get his head over to this side a little bit right but again we talked about these guys their clinches and their abilities to grab the head they’re so good at it watch him guide the head oh he guides the head right into the other knee switches switches the knee lands it clean right to the chin I mean this is a money that’s so hard to execute that Alex Pera he’s got power in his hands power in his feet power in his knees and again when you think okay I gotta worry out by the hook and the kicks he throws a incredible jump you know knee and hits that too so the guy is so dangerous on the feet this fight is really going to come down to who executes yeah that was in his UFC debut at MSG one year later he’d be F Israel and win the UFC middleweight Crown now he wants to defend his light heavyweight crown and to do that we’ll look at the keys to Victory we’ll start with the champion Alex po what does he need to do to turn back Jamal Hill he’s got to maintain the range this guy is a world class kickboxer right I mean he’s one Glory championships multiple and multiple divisions he comes over to the UFC he’s already won the UFC title twice and he’s only nine and two he’s got a plethora of attacks he’s worked on that craft his whole life the longer the fights on the feed at range the more chances has to win even if he’s losing which we just showed in the fifth round he’s just got so much power and he can turn the lights on any minute to do all that he’s got to keep his back off the fence still that being said he’s a little new to the game right we see him kind of grab the Ghillie sometimes and get taken down uh against Yan certain things that you just don’t see guys do usually and and he’s growing he’s learning but Hill is so good at getting guys against the cage and unloading with that length and that power right that I think he’s really going to have to keep his back off def fence maybe the takedowns will happen there too that’s yet to be seen lastly he’s got to stay disciplined on defense as awesome as he is he is awesome he is very hitable and you know definitely the transfer from the small gloves to the big gloves is definitely a part of it but he just he drops his hands a lot and it’s just kind of part of his style he throws his punches from down here he doesn’t always kind of come back up and he gets hit with that right hand a lot and I’m sure Hills team is going to break that down uh immensely and really try to find holes so he’s got to stay disciplined on defense while he’s throwing those big Power shots all right let’s go to Jamal Hill the Challenger who never lost that belt in a fight he lost it because he was injured what’s his key to getting it back absolutely he’s got to push a high pace brenon and we talked about this this guy will get that motor cranking and when he see guys break in he loves that he loves to break guys so he’s got to push a high Pace right away try to get Alex tired try to wear out that power take it out of his hands and his legs to do that I think he’s got to utilize the fence right he’s got to try to push him against the fence he’s really good there unload some damage on him get him tired wear out his arm play the pummeling game get him the hand fight try to wear him out essentially and get him tired get him to those later rounds and lastly he cannot stand and trade this guy don’t care I mean he is a doll he will get in there and he will throw down one for one all day long what’s up you cannot do that against Alex he’s just got too much power and I think that Hill is going to be smart really interesting seeing how he crafts the game plan him and his team on to stay out of the power but also be aggressive try to wear down Pereira and to get the finish all right well uh Jamal Hill became the first fighter on Dana White’s Contender series to go on and win a UFC Championship 15 months later he is back he’s healthy and he is headlining UFC 300 against Alex Pera the belt has changed hands in this division several times in recent years because of injuries and other circumstances perhaps we get a definitive answer on Saturday night at the end of UFC 300 safe saoud well done as always always hope you enjoyed the preview and hope you enjoy the fights at the epic UFC 300 thanks for watching UFC [Music] breakdown
